Why is it so goddamn hard?

Because if it wasn’t, what would be the point? Show me a seed that grew without a struggle through soil. Show me a wise men yet to experience woe & dismay. Show me a fully-formed diamond yet to undergo years of physical pressure.

You can’t - & that’s because skill, understanding, wisdom, awareness & knowledge come AFTER that of the pursuit. Comfort would be beyond our comprehension without the exposure to discomfort. As would love, joy, contentment, faith, growth, & anything positive. Only once the seed solidifies its place within the soil, pushing its roots into the hard, unforgiving earth, will it then shoot & bloom. The same concept exists for us.

If life come easy, we’d find so much less purpose within it. We’d attempt it all, perfection at our first attempt, left bored & unfulfilled. It is only through acquisition of complicated & valuable skills that we locate our purpose.

So, allow the struggle to be the bed of your foundation. Rest upon your overcomings. Relish in your misunderstanding & your undeveloped emotions. It means you have more work to do. It means you have more room to grow. Just like the seed & its roots.
