After getting off early from work, Jake thought that it would be a good idea to surprise Jessica. The brunette had been on his mind all day and he knew that seeing her face would make everything better. While walking down the street, he found himself frozen in his spot upon seeing a sight he never thought he would see. The girl that he was in love with was now in the arms of another. A part of him thought that maybe the two were simply friends and were participating in a friendly hug. However, in a matter of seconds, that theory was shattered. The moment their lips locked, Jake could feel his breath catch in his throat. It was as if all the air had disappeared and he was now suffocating. Once loud heart beat had now faded to a sound so quiet, it seemed that his heart wasn’t beating at all. Jake soon felt tears start to swell in the corners of his eyes and with one swipe of his sleeve, he turned away. The sight of seeing Jess kissing another was too much for him to bare. His only option was to walk away and try to forget what he had witnessed.
