Stopped by one of my favourite places today, Cannington Manor ❤️ For those of you who may not know but this is the place that is the inspiration for my Abbington Pickets novel series. My heart is definitely here. Where my grandma worked or 18!years and I spent a lot of my child hood here learning the history. Where my great grandparents got married, my parents got married, I got married, our daughter got married and I was baptized here, the list goes on and on. If you haven’t been there, you should go! They have a fair day on the long weekend of August and church service is every last Sunday of the month during the summer. They also do other fun things like candle nights and this year I heard they were doing something new. Schools always go there for tours at the end of the school year. Mom grew a lot of tomatoes this year, so her and I have been making salsa. We appreciate the new technology of electricity, running water and great dish soap. Imagine how Abigail and her mama would can fruit and vegetables? How much work went into it. Having to haul the water, heat up the water, but before you can heat up the water you would have to bring in the wood to start the stove, and even before that, Jacob would have had to cut the wood! Canning must have been ten times the work!
