Monsieur Hulot’s Holiday (1953). Monsieur Hulot comes to a beachside hotel for a vacation, where he accidentally (but good-naturedly) causes havoc.
This is a quaint little slice of life comedy, but it’s not really my thing. Still, it’s well-shot, and I can appreciate why people would like it - it’s so sweet after all, and the comedy is gentle and harmless. It’s feel good, even if it doesn’t really go anywhere. 7/10.
