Fruits Basket: The Final
I can’t believe it………… It’s over…….. It’s really over……
What a wonderful journey we’ve been on together, though. We’ve laughed, we’ve cried, and felt many emotions on this Fruits Basket reboot journey. Where would we be without Natsuki Takaya and her brilliant mind behind this magnificent story?! I truly thank Caitlin Glass and the wonderful team/staff of Funimation for bringing this story back to life for those of us who have longed to see this story fully animated. A big thanks to all the voice actors, both original cast and new, for making this characters come to life in brand new way. Fruits Basket Fandom, look how far we’ve come as fans. Although it’s over, we still have each other to rely on to keep the characters and stories alive! This fandom is truly one of the beat to be a part of! ❤️
As Tohru said, “Let’s stay together, always.”
What I feel are the main differences between the Kaguya-Sama sub and dub:
KAGUYA SHINOMIYA
Aoi Koga: Focuses on Kaguya's upper-class status. So she sounds like a refined, rich girl who struggles to connect with the "lower-classes".
Alexis Tipton: Focuses on Kaguya's split personalities. There are clear differences in tone and energy when she portrays Kaguya's different personalities to the point that it feels like she's playing multiple characters.
---------------------------------
MIYUKI SHIROGANE
Makoto Furukawa: Focuses on Miyuki's status as class president. You can tell that he's going for a confident, commanding voice, which is fitting because Miyuki is supposed to be the one leading the council.
Aaron Dismuke: Sort of the same as Makoto's interpretation, but Aaron tones down the regal-ness. So while Makoto plays the character as a strong leader, Aaron plays the character as a high schooler trying to give off the impression that he's a strong leader.
---------------------------------
CHIKA FUJIWARA
Konomi Kohara: Definitely leans in on the character's cuteness and likability. It's like Konomi was told by the director to sound as cute and adorable as possible (with the occasional serious directions for the drama scenes).
Jad Saxton: Focuses on Chika being the annoying friend. While Jad retains the character's cuteness, she adds a layer of obnoxiousness in her performance. It's like Jad was told by the director to justify Kaguya calling Chika an annoying pest because that's how she plays the character.
---------------------------------
YU ISHIGAMI
Ryota Suzuki: Focuses on Ishigami being the depressed outcast. His performance is low-energy most of the time, which fits the character since most of Ishigami's dialogue is about how sad his life is.
Austin Tindle: Pretty much the same as Ryota's interpretation, but OVER-EXAGGERATED. It's like Austin confused Ishigami with Ken Kaneki (who he also dubbed).
Personally, I think I would have probably switched Tindle and Dismuke around, made Jad Hayasaka, and had Lindsay Seidel be Chika, but all in all the cast looks good.

The Summer of Love: The English Dub of High School DxD
We will be jumping into the second half of season one next week with a look at the “Raiser Arc” and all it brings to the table, but this week I wanted to steer the Summer of Love into a topic that many people don’t really discuss: The English Dub, and my overall thoughts and feelings on it. There is a good, a lot of good, and some slightly not so good. So join me after the cut as we jump into our next chapter of The Summer of Love, the dub! This is another long one, so be ready!
Fruits Basket (2019) Dream Cast
Bc I am va trash.
Also, when Funi reveals their real cast, I’m sure I will be a million miles off the mark, but I had fun anyway.
General Guidelines:
In keeping with what Japan has reported, no original cast members reprising their roles. If they played a bit part, I can reuse them, but no Laura Bailey as Tohru, no John Burgmeier as Shigure, etc.
There is no way that Funimation won’t make this a simulcast when they start releasing. As such, I’m basing everything with the thought that all the VAs are based out of Texas.
I didn’t cast everyone. Like I left the Yuki Fan Club roles uncast along with a bunch of bit roles. But I did cast a few manga-only roles. I have not read the manga fully, but I get the gist of it from reading summaries.
My list, my opinions. Just an internet goer trying to have a little fun playing pretend ADR director
