Why do you think Georgian government isn't doing anything? aren't they still sending out humanitarian aid?

If you are referring to my tags, you are right that Georgia has sent humanitarian aid to Ukraine since I posted. However:

Back in February, the Georgian Parliament adopted a resolution that was in support of Ukraine yet refused to name Russia.

After Russia invaded Ukraine, a session on Ukraine was rejected by Georgia’s ruling party.

Government officials have refused to go to Kyiv in support of Ukraine, despite that other allies of Ukraine have done so. It should also be noted that the Ukrainian president had flown to Tbilisi in 2008 when Russia invaded Georgia.

In addition to this:

They have refused to join the sanctions against Russia.

They have refused to shut their airspace to Russian flights (though I do understand their reasons with regards to Armenia).

They have done little about pro-Kremlin media within the country.

They have refused to allow volunteers to join the war, and with this position, they have blocked a charter flight to Georgia meant to bring Georgian volunteers to Ukraine.

The blocking of volunteers and refusal of sanctions has prompted President Zelenskyy to recall Ukraine's ambassador to Georgia, calling the Georgian government's blockade an "immoral position."

I am not alone in my opinion that the government is doing very little. Currently, there are major protests across Georgia over the government's lack of support towards Ukraine and many are calling for PM Garibashvili to step down. Georgians in Tbilisi have been protesting Russia’s invasion of Ukraine for six days as of right now, and the protests are only becoming more and more political as the government refuses to act.

Georgia and Ukraine have incredibly similar histories of invasion and subjugation by Russia, and more often than not they have been allies because of the bonds that grew from those shared experiences. The Georgian government should be doing more than the bare minimum for Ukraine, and seeing it decide to cater to Russia instead has been very disappointing to say the least.

HI LOVELY ANON - I'm so sorry it has taken me an actual eternity to reply to this! It's just a wee short one as I'm working on a few other ideas just now, but I wanted to answer this for you in some way <3

"Yo, earth to JJ."

The empty beer can that John B had lazily launched at his best friend's head barely clipped the blonde's brow before landing on the floor at his feet, but it was enough to get his attention.

"What the hell, man?" JJ complained, kicking the can back over in the direction it had come from.

"What's so interesting over there that you keep ignoring me?" John B pressed, pushing himself up on one elbow from where he'd been lying sprawled across the two-seat sofa on the porch.

"Nothing," JJ replied, a little to quickly and defensively for his own good. "I just zoned out for a second."

"Sure.." John B drawled sarcastically, his gaze having landed on the two girls laying out on the hammocks not far from them.

JJ rolled his eyes with a groan, sliding down in his seat until his head rested against the back of it, eyes back on the boy across from him.

"I wasn't looking at her."

"Never said you were, man."

"Nah, but you were thinking it."

"Well yeah, 'cause you were."

JJ dragged his hands down his face dramatically as John B laughed, hauling himself upright to grab another beer from the case sitting on the floor beside him.

He cracked one open and took a gulp before gesturing to the case in a silent question.

JJ shook his head, one hand running through his hair as he sat forward restlessly, his elbows on his knees.

"Okay fine, I was looking at her. But it's not a big deal, alright?"

"Whatever you say, man." John B muttered, raising his hands up in surrender as a grin pulled at his lips.

"Don't look at me like that - I'm serious." JJ continued to protest, looking back over his shoulder as if to check the girls couldn't suddenly hear them from so far away.

"It's not how I look at you that matters, dumbass."

"And what's that supposed to mean, shit for brains?"

"You don't see the way your eyes light up when you look at her. " John B clarified, raising the hand that was till holding his beer to point at him. JJ straightened up slightly across from him, eyes widening slightly in repressed panic.

"It makes the rest of us kinda nauseous, honestly." John B added for good measure, lightening the mood.

JJ picked up the nearest item he could find, in this case a throw that had been abandoned haphazardly across the chair beside him, and threw it in his friend's direction. John B struggled free one-handedly from underneath it, where had wrapped itself around his head and laughed.

"Seriously though, Jay. Just talk to her, man."

"But it's Kie. This isn't just some random girl passing through. And what would I even say to her, anyway?"

"You could always start by just telling her how you feel?"

"No shit, Sherlock."

"Well, how do you feel about her?"

"Fuck, I don't know, man. I mean, she's one of my best friends, right?"

JJ let his gaze drift back over to her as he spoke. She was lying out on the hammock nearest the Chateau, her her hair still wet from the ocean and wearing nothing but a dangerously delicate-looking, tangerine-coloured bikini with an oversized tee thrown over it. Her bare legs were stretched out in front of her, long and golden and JJ swore she was fucking shimmering as the sun started to set behind her.

Just as he went to draw his gaze from her, she laughed and the sound carried on the breeze as she sat up and leaned over to pass a lit joint to Sarah, who laying in the opposite hammock.

"And she's hot, but she's always been hot - that's hardly a recent development..." He added, momentarily distracted from the bigger picture.

John B acknowledged the statement with a measured raise of his brow. When JJ didn't turn back around to face him after a few seconds of not saying anything, John B cleared his throat.

"Right, my bad." JJ turned back around with a shake of his head, facing strictly forward as he continued.

"She's funny, and smart, and she always has our backs. Even when we're doing dumb shit."

"This is true." John B agreed with a nod of his head and tilt of his can.

"And she knows her own mind, you know? She's not scared to say what she really thinks or call me out on my bullshit."

John B sighed, almost feeling sorry for his obliviously love-struck best friend, as JJ slumped back down in his seat with a huff.

"Shit, here they come." John B cursed, leaning across the makeshift coffee table between them to smack at JJ's knee as the girls approached from behind him.

Both boys stood up, John B making his way around to stand by JJ before bringing his hand down onto JJ's shoulder with a reassuring thud.

"Question is, what are you gonna do about it?"

They do have an interesting relationship! Azerbaijan can be a bit of a snake towards him though LMAO. She and Turkey also have an extremely close relationship which causes the Turkey-Georgia-Azerbaijan trio to become a third wheel situation most of the time...

Georgia really has much better friends in Eastern Europe lol.

jade still felt hungover. she’d gone out on friday (as a lost hurrah type of thing before starting her new job) and she’d been regretting it all weekend because of the hang over headache. the night had been pretty great, actually, and she’d been fucked better than she had been in, like, years. but the headache was bringing her down. she was rallying though. jade wasn’t going to fuck up her first day. at least, she didn’t think she was going to fuck up her first day until she arrived and saw the very person she’d fucked standing right there. “jesus christ...” jade murmured to herself, hoping and praying that they didn’t remember. she looked more put together today. she was a whole different person on monday morning than she’d been on friday night. maybe she could act like she had a twin or something. but, no, that wouldn’t work because she could distinctly remember yelling that her name was jade into their ear. it would be fine. she’d act like she didn’t remember. if only her body would pretend like it didn’t remember either. “hi,” jade greeted, trying to give her best ‘first impression’ smile. “i’m... today’s my first day?”
