The White Rat🐁
Wen from the Green Bone Saga by Fonda Lee :)
one thing about Fonda Lee is that she will specify the full name-brand make and model of every single weapon and vehicle in her books every single time they are used
The Kauls from the incredible Jade City series 💚
(Kaul Hilo in the first, and Lan, Shae, Wen, and Anden in the second!)

My favorite characters of all time are Creatures in Situations.
My second favorite characters are Asshole Who Creates Situations.
There truly is some kind of unhingedness to Hilo's behaviour that is so amusing. Like, everything about him screams: this is a man who's been too close to death a few too many times and has seen it take too many of his loved ones' lives. And that certainly does things to a person.
You see it in the way he thinks, acts, and talks. His casual consideration of straight up murdering or leaving his cousin to die. His immediate reaction to massacre dozens of people. Everything.
And then you remember that he's a natural Horn, and combat is his lifeblood. But that also deep inside is a man who loves so much that he would go to lengths for his loved ones but also refuses to bend to their will. Kaul Hilo certainly is a character, and one that I would love to see on screen should the Green Bone Saga ever get a movie adaptation.
