So, after just being astounded by your writing and remembering an ask you did send Ariel at some point, I have an urgent question: what neurodivergency do you headcanon Fyodor to have? Because based on the way you write him, I am sure there has to be something on your mind?? Maybe narcissim, though he wouldn't be able to see his partner as equal then...so yeah, a penny for your thoughts!!!!!

I actually headcanon both Fyodor and Dazai as having ASPD or antisocial personality disorder and this would make sense for why they are able to read each other so well and why there is something off-putting about them to other people. The main difference is that I headcanon Dazai as someone with ASPD and depression who struggles with their disorder and wants to be like others. I view Fyodor as having ASPD comorbid with narcissism. He is at peace with his disorder, he knows he doesn't think like other people and views himself as better because of it and see it as an advantage. This is society's stereotypical view of people with ASPD. ASPD used to be called "sociopathy" or "psycopathy" but these are outdated terms and the DSM V lists ASPD as the overarching disorder. I mentioned before that my dad has this disorder and touching more on that, he has BOTH narcissism and depression. There are times I could see him struggling desperately to understand why he couldn't hold onto the people he cared about or find any enjoyment in others(like Dazai) but there were also times where he was self-serving and flat-out manipulative to get what he wanted, regardless of any hurt towards others. ASPD is low empathy/no empathy to the point that it impacts your daily life. Someone with ASPD and narcissism(which can be overt or covert) is going to be extremely self-seeking with little restraint towards doing what they want. I believe Fyodor would count as a covert narcissist since he isn't self aggrandizing but still views himself as higher than others and manipulates what others think of him to gain favor in their mind. Covert narcissists are more subtle, but they will still try to control their image in the eyes of others. This isn't to say that all people with ASPD or narcissism are like this. With therapy and self-reflection people can learn to cope with having lower levels of empathy. I sometimes feel like I've inherited a bit of that from my father as well, so I will do things like consciously ask myself why I am doing something and what I think the person I am dealing with is thinking. I've also told my close friends that I struggle with empathy and to flat out tell me if I am being an ass because I'm selfish and don't want to lose them. Lol Sorry for all the personal anecdotes, but that's my hot take!

Hi Jade!!😀 I'm glad you like the theme! I'm hoping to be able to add links once I get used to all the formatting stuff because I'm like 90 years old in my soul.👵 I will definitely take requests as well as my ask box being open in general!! I speak Japanese but my speech is casual form. I understand how to speak politely but casual comes more naturally for me since that's what I use with my friends and husband. I also have a Kansai dialect, so my speech pattern comes from the Osaka area. Lol 😁
