What's your headcanon for Mara when you first met her?
HEADCANON:Emperor Palpatine (Darth Sidious) could sense that Darth Vader was gaining strength in the Force even in the suit. Sidous created a back up plan – an insurance plan in case he needed it should he ever have to dismantle Vader. Vader was a natural (made by PLAGUEIS) FORCE WIELDER (like on Mortis) and could control both sides of the Force with more power than he could possibly imagine. But Vader was unbalanced since his turn to the Dark Side. It was because Vader had not been indoctrinated as a baby like most younglings were when the Jedi Order was around.Sidious needed to have child to corrupt as his own and he did not want to use cloning and well, sex was out of the question for an asexual and possible aromantic. Therefore, adoption was an option, but finding strong Force Users after killing all the Jedi was difficult to sense until… MARA JADE who was conceived through the Force by serendipity. The Force had an answer.
And once the INQUISITORS got her, he made a perfect world for her. He could give her a life that she would never have if she stayed with her family. STORY EXT:He sees her getting acquainted with her room in the grand palace and grins at her astonishment of all the toys and playthings she would ever need. Like sugar and spice and everything nice. The droids were racing to bathe and cloth her into frilly dresses to be a showcase, a doll publicly. But he could not wait to meet his “daughter”. He Force pushes the droids aside and hover to over as she plays when her green eyes glisten in the light to him. “My. My. Mara, what do you have here, child?” “My snow globe. Rexy’vod gave it to me. He said to remember ner’aliit always.” Her tiny voice sounds as she plays with the toy. “Wheres’s ner’buir? I want ner’buir.”Sidious sees this tiny thing and wonders if she senses her mother in the Force. Through her he sees all her thoughts. He siphons her power to learn more of who really this child is as she carries a lightsaber from Siri from the Jedi Burial Grounds. Who gave her that lightsaber was his lingering question, but Mara is too young to understand everything. His mouth crinkles as he watches her play silent, deadly and calm. “Your mother is dead. Maul and his Commandos killed her.” He pauses. “I will avenge your mother’s death with the destruction of Mandalore.”Mara looks up at him briefly, then down at her snowglobe and smashes into pieces using the Force.Sidious cackles as he absorbs her rage in the Force and contritely asks her. “Why destroy such a treasured trinket?”Mara with skipping a beat replies. “I wanted to see how it worked.”
