This is a comment I put on a post by @tommyigoe about speed in drumming, and which I am expanding on here. Having played drums for decades in bands (without practicing rudiments or technique, indeed not practicing AT ALL) I never needed to have fast hands and feet. I still don’t. However, since working on the Lifetime Warmup my speed has increased, due to better technique, as a natural byproduct. Still don’t need to be able to play fast, just for the song. But I have a little more speed.
