So I went to a school that was less than 20 minutes from my high school and my hometown and I VERY rarely saw anyone from my school. And honestly everybody changes after high school. Everyone is excited and not all angsty teenagers that can only talk about how much they hate high school. I think even if you do end up going to the school that is closer to your home, you should still live in the dorms if possible. It's such a great opportunity to meet new, different people from all over the (cont)
country/world. Even if you happen to not like your roommate(s) you'll still meet so many new people and you're bound to make tons of friends. I have so many friends that lived at home their first year and unless you're really involved in extra-curricular activities it's really hard to meet people.
ah i see. everyone seems to agree that its best to get that experience! heres the thing though: the school in my town basically offered me a full ride so i wouldnt have to take out any loans. i might even get money back! and like i said the school that's away id be in a ton of debt by graduation. I really love that school though! i visited the other weekend and it was so great. i totally could see myself there! definitely a dream school.
if i were to pay for dorms at the one in my town, then i might as well pay to go away! do you see what im saying? i get what you talking about though! i need experience
money is the thing thats stopping me :(
Opinions on going away or staying close to home for college?
