For a very brief 6 months from June 2009 - January 2010, my boy coco was the host of the tonight show. So NBC, being NBC (nasty backstabbing cunts) decided that since Leno wasn’t hosting the tonight show anymore, they were going to give him his own show, the jay leno show, and it would air during the tonight show’s slot, pushing the show back to midnight instead of 11:35. The tonight show has been on immediately after the news since it’s first episode. So to push it back, wouldn’t have been a good idea  and Conan knew it wasn’t a good idea, so NBC basically told him to fuck off, bought out his contract as host of the Tonight show (to give it back to Jay) and severed his ties to the network (deadss nbc deleted any trace of him from their sites it’s like he never existed) which he had been working for since 1988 at that point in time and on top of that, a part of the legalities of it meant that Conan was legally restricted from taking any jobs in relation to hosting a TV show for next 9 months. So while he was legally prohibited from being funny on tv, he went on a comedy tour.
