Jafel Filho submits Ode Osbourne in 1st!

One of the handful of fights I was interested in on this card. Filho makes quick work of Osbourne, dragging him down to the ground and working from top to get the RNC. Nice GnP to force Osbourne to twist and turn looking for relief. The takedown was cool. Got in deep on the waste of Osbourne who tried to wizzar out of position. Filho is able to close his grip and just pulls Osbourne back and over the top. Ends up in side control before moving to mount.

Interesting how many of these flyweight up and comers are stifling top control submission artist.

Cody Durden takes UD over Jafel Filho

I do not like Durden but dude is never in a boring fight. Always bringing pace and intensity. Like Colby Covington-lite. Filho was good when he could end up on top but just had no path to the takedown. When they did collide, Durden did a good job of initiating clinches so that Filho couldn't get dominant position. But by the end, Filho just couldn't string consistent offense together and does not have the firepower to hurt Durden.

Jafel Filho kimuras Clayton Carpenter in the 1st round!

We've got a couple of really dynamic submissions in the last two weeks. Zalal's armbar finish last week and now a kimura. Filho had taken Carpenter's back and was gunning for the RNC but couldn't get his arms around Carpenter's neck. Carpenter managed to get the reversal and get to the top, but Filho hunted the arm and got the kimura locked up and flipped him over from half. Deep lock ends the fight. Good win for Filho who is still a finishing threat despite the 2-2 start to his UFC career.
