Jaguar's 1961 - 150 mph E Type, is said to have been the inspiration for Ferrari's 1962 - 250 GTO entry in to the 1962 to 1964 - FIA GT race series

Speculation at the time that Jaguar Cars were also returning to professional Racing were not without substance, and Ferrari's entry in to the GT Race Series drove Jaguar Cars to produce twelve special Lightweight aluminum-racing models of their E Type for participation in the 1962 - 1964 FIA GT racing series.

However, Sir William Lyons ultimately decided against Jaguar Cars re-entering competitive racing, but instead sold all twelve Lightweights exclusively to his preferred privateer teams on the understanding that there would be no factory support offered thereafter.

All of the original 12 Lightweights have survived and are now owned by private collectors. If one of these ever becomes available for sale, it will be for millions of pounds, normally behind closed doors by private tender, and is very unlikely to ever be offered in a public sale.

Of the 12 Jaguar Lightweights, two were further enhanced to become known as Low Drags, with the Lindner Nocker - Low Drags considered to be the prettiest of the two.

- First manufactured in November 1955 by Jaguar Cars Coventry this XK140 Jaguar LHD, which still retains its original 3.4 – 6 cylinder Jaguar engine was registered in America to its first owner Emanuel Fredlund, New York in February 1956.

Having had only 2 owners in the last 55 years and purchased by its last owner of 27 years in 1996 and imported back to the UK from its former US owner of 28 years, who achieved concours winning success with his body off restoration XK140 at the North California America Jaguar Club events in 1994.

Over the past 27 years, the car has been garaged in Central London and primarily used for Jaguar events, rallies, and occasional outings both here in the UK and Europe with one of it’s last Jaguar rallies attending  the XK70 year celebrations in June 2018.

As a result, it has a lovely original patina and continues to drive exceptionally well, benefitting still from its modern-day upgrades supplied and fitted by Guy Board XK Specialists significantly enhancing the performance, reliability, and overall driving experience, whilst still preserving its classic aesthetic.

Jaguar Cars manufacturered 72,000 E Type Jaguars between 1961 and 1974 and a original matching numbers RHD S3 V12 Jaguar E Type Roadster is a rare example of the most powerful E Type's Jaguar Cars manufactured at Browns Lane Coventry, as only 1,892 were ever made. The 117th original RHD – manufactured in October 1971 – Jaguar E Type S3 – 5.3 – V12 Roadster. Finished in Bahama Gold with a Black Interior and Head Rests with a Black Mohair Hood. The first owner Mr Light ordered this S3 Roadster as a special order in Bahama Gold the same colour as his 3 dr Bahama Gold Range Rover and is believed to have been the only factory S3 E Type Roadster to be finished in this colour & his business partner ordered his S3 2 + 2 in the same colour combination.
