Ok your among us post just reminded me of how much I love Talia and Jake as a brotp. Not enough people talk about their friendship in s1. I feel like they would be totally bro’s that would definitely fuck each other if asked but otherwise just best friends.

100% I love their friendship- it feels a lot like my best friend who is mlm because it’s like ‘we should be married but tragically neither of us are attracted to the other’. Talia and Tim have a great friendship too but it always overshadows Talia and Jake. People like their goofs, but I feel like that’s really all they have?

Versus with Jake and Talia just so *chefs kiss* because they have emotional intimacy, trust, AND the goofs. Some headcanons because I like them so much:

If someone breaks up with Talia, even if she’s not that upset about it, Jake will be FURIOUS. He’s not a violent guy but he’ll absolutely verbally harass anyone who dares to hurt her.

They’re not big brother-little sister because they switch to little brother-big sister too often. In any given situation, only one of them has the braincell. 

They have a running competition to see who can send the worst tik tok. Talia always sends those cringey middle aged women being sexual ones or culturally appropriative witchtok ones, and Jake always sends the raw meat/shrimp/body horror tiktoks. 

Talia will NEVER let it go if Jake says something silly/has a typo. You know that ‘I spelled the grinch ‘grink’ and now my friends won’t stop asking me if I saw the grink’ post? That’s Talia. 

Platonic intimacy! They’ll just cuddle or hold hands if the other needs reassurance/is sad. 

Jake loves going shopping, probably more than Talia does, and so they go to shopping centers together whenever either one needs new clothes/homegoods.

They know each other’s weird kinks and absolutely make fun of them. 

They work so well together because Talia is really good at planning things in the big picture and Jake is very detail oriented. Both are willing to be both a leader and a follower, even though Talia usually ends up leading, and they respect each other enough to switch roles up.

Jake’s already a very open person, but he can be especially vulnerable with Talia. I’m picturing someone breaking Jake’s heart or hurting his feelings, so he’ll lay with his head in Talia’s lap crying as she gently pets his hair. 

They always do ‘what are the odds’ or dares. The biggest ones have been that Talia got him to shave his legs and Jake got her to steal the hands off a mannequin in a store (to be fair they were WEIRD hands. Guess you had to be there).

I replayed season 1 to see the changes and it's funny how Jake is opposed and slightly grossed out at the idea of hoking up in the restaurant's kitchen, while in Rocco is just admitting to hooking up in his food truck, like proudly, Rocco is 🤢 and yes def smells

Jake is ALWAYS on his king shit. Of course he doesn’t want to have sex in the kitchen- that’s where he works. It’s gotta be sterile. Keep that in the bathroom, bedroom, living room floor, and backyard behind the large shrubbery where it belongs.

This may be slander but I think Rocco violates SO many health codes. His food truck is probably absolutely nasty. I don’t doubt his cocktails are good, but Rocco doesn’t give a shit about health codes or food safety outside of ‘well does it taste good?’
