Brobot was created to strife with Jake, to be a partner for sparring when Dirk couldn't - or at least, that's what Dirk claimed. In reality, Brobot was created to protect Jake, to ensure his safety while Dirk is stuck thousands of miles and hundreds of years away. And he's much more of a feeling being than either Dirk or Jake are aware of.
