So my 4th is over and I didn’t take any fucking pictures but it was so damn easy to be patriotic as a bunch of 20 somethings dying to go home. Like, I fucking hate America as an institution, it is fucked in SO MANY ways. But it is where I grew up. It is where the people I love are. It is home. This was my first 4th EVER not surrounded by people from the town I grew up in and running around downtown wearing redwhite&blue and watching the crazy freedom riders and playing in the river and watching the butte catch on fire. Like. There are pictures of me at the downtown 4th fest from when I was a baby. Since moving away for school I have always gone back for the 4th. So this was a first that I was really grumpy about. But as it turns out, everyone else here, despite having an incredible time...we’re less sad and more excited about only having about a month left here. I know I will miss it. I am anticipating the reverse culture shock after becoming accustomed to such a different world. I know I will want to come back to visit or maybe if I’m brave enough get a teaching job here for like 1 year. But for now I am spent and just ready to be home. I am just so tired. All the damn time. Tokyo life is not for me. It was such a blast and I am so grateful for all of the amazing memories and friends I have made, but it’s July 4th. On August 4th, I get on a plane, and go make more memories in NYC with one of my closest friends. And then I go HOME. HOME. To everyone that I love and miss so fucking much. Like. Yeah, I am lucky to be here and should make the most of it. I have lots of fun left to be had before I leave. But I WANT to leave. I am READY to leave. Sue me.

I’m actually not all that interested in getting a tattoo, personally. I mean, I never really have. 

11. Something you miss?

Lately I’ve been really missing my dog Casey. She passed away,..I think it will be 4 years ago this spring. She was the biggest sweetheart and I miss taking her out for walks and letting her flush birds in the grass fields by my house. 

20. Where do you go when you’re sad?

It helps me to be around people most of the time. But other times, it feels nice to be alone or somewhere quiet away from people.
