5. Carriage Ride
When James said he would prove to Lynette how much he cared about her, the last thing she expected was a carriage ride around Griffith Park. So, it was a pleasant surprise when James led her away by the hand after both their bands had finished recording for the day. The last thing she expected was for him to do something like this, but then again, she did tell James he had to prove he liked her.
"I know this isn't something grand, but I- "
"It's perfect." She cut him off, adjusting her sunglasses.
"Wait, really?"
"This is sweet, James."
James breathed a sigh of relief. All the tension in his body dissipated. He worried it wasn't enough, or she would turn him down. It was like a game of cat and mouse with their emotions. A will-they-won't-they scenario. His nerves were overworked, but a smile spread across his face. They climbed into the carriage, and his face flushed when she snuggled close to him.
"Gustavo was incredibly annoying today. He got into an argument with Kat over her clothes,"
"When isn't he in an argumentative attitude?" James chuckled.
"The answer is never. That man runs on fumes and spite," Lyn snickered. "I'm surprised he hasn't quit on Kat's Crew."
"Well, that collab did make the company quite a bit of money."
"You sound snooty." She shoved his shoulder playfully.
"I'm not wrong. Griffin came in all happy and excited the other day, and Gustavo let us leave work early."
"Oh, if only we had the special treatment Big Time Rush has," Lynette sighed and leaned her head on his shoulder. James tensed up, and the sides of his face were warm.
He didn't want this moment to end, mainly because he knew that the mind games would be back on. But for now, he could appreciate this scenario as the carriage went around the park. Even if the moment didn't last forever, he was thankful for the respite. He noticed how they held hands even when the carriage ride ended, and his face was most likely firetruck red.
