Definitely never okay the way fandoms make up whole derogatory names and narratives around the women to keep their fantasies going.
It’s sad to see how telling people to not be weird and misogynistic means you’re a secret fan, meanwhile someone’s hate for pip has led to a fake jam sighting. I used to think this subset of jammers were in the minority, but I’m starting to change my mind on that. It’s an obsession and they’re very adamant on defending this obsession, especially the person running that Pipnsam/vampirepress blog. They spend more time talking about her and dissecting her every move than they do actually talking about Jacob and Sam.
Unfortunately it seems that depth of rpf delusion has already created feelings strong enough in people to fake sightings. It sucks for the rest of the fandom because even though we don’t read those blogs or subscribe to those beliefs now it affects us in this way.

Really Bothers me with rpfrs, is there constantly insinuating Jacob is somehow jealous of Sam/Assad lestat /Armand stuff. It's utterly ridiculous and insulting to Jacob
Not rpf related but I do think we have evidence of Jacob being a Loustat monogamist and not liking Loumand or Lestat/groupies or Lestat / anyone else. His reactions in interviews have been pretty obvious. I don’t think it has anything to do with Sam/Assad though.

This whole HR situation makes me scared for S3. I know our show is niche and probably wont ever attract the same level of attention, but we still deal with the same weird behavior. People are constantly trying to pit Jacob and Sam against each other just because season three will focus on Lestat. It still blows my mind that people think it’s a bait and switch as if the show isn’t an adaptation of a series of books. I will say it seems like things have gotten better, but it’ll probably ramp back up again as we get closer to the premiere. Jacob already had his moment of telling fans to behave and of course nothing really changed. Idk why fans have to take it upon themselves to act like they manage their favorite actors. It’s just embarrassing and I cringe every time I see it. I’m glad our cast mostly stays offline. Also, it’s everyone’s fans there’s a batch of crazy for every actor, character, and ship on this show, even if your echo chamber is telling you differently.
I am posting this but I don’t really have an opinion. I don’t know what’s going on with that other show nor do I want to. Let’s cross that bridge when we get there. I will say that over the last couple of days I saw popular threads on X talking about Sam and Pip in a very positive light, everyone saying they forgot Sam had a girlfriend but how super cute they are. So the delusion is mostly reserved to tumblr.
