Brought a book on mansions today (’Great American mansions’ by Merrill Folsom, 1963) and the first one to be featured was James Deering's ‘Vizcaya’ in Miami, which right off the bat describes him as ‘a life long bachelor, who preferred the company of bourbon to woman and only ever had male secretaries’ 

...I think ‘preferred the company of bourbon to woman’ is my new favorite description of ‘Probably a closeted homosexual’
