My solution to help @JCpenney
JC Penney is not the first mega brand to catch the digital vapors. In the past 15 years we have seen the fall of many titans. Why? They did not see and accept change. E-commerce has changed the game forever. Retail is out and E-tail is in. As a management consultant and a marketer I consult clients on how to not just survive change, but thrive in change. JC Penney is asset and labor heavy. Ron Johnson should sell off physical assets and real estate and make JC Penney a showroom where the consumer can experience their brands and then "instaship" products directly to the home. It's sad I know and people will lose their jobs, but running from the avalanche of e-commerce too late did this. The only way for JC Penney to turn a profit now is to become lean and mean. Partner with Amazon and others all while building a state-of -the-art e-tail site that would compete with a Walmart for example. Spend the money they save on retail locations and labor and buy online traffic. I'd love to hear your thoughts and point of view. This is a sign of the times.
