🎬💖🎶🎤👑#ArtIsAWeapon #FBF Y'all, I saw the @amazing_grace_film a week ago and still don't have the words to fully describe that rapturous experience! Witnessing the powerful and anointed 29-year-old #ArethaFranklin recording “Amazing Grace” with the gospel greatness of #JamesCleveland and the Southern California Community Choir (directed by the charismatic Alexander Hamilton) was indescribably exhilarating and spirit-moving! And everyone in the sanctuary gave us all the finest in 1970's Black church fashions!!! We had church at the @filmforumnyc! ____________________ I’ve been slightly obsessed with this footage since I first heard it existed. I've seen clips over the years and hoped hard that one day we would see it in its entirety. Well, after 46 years and many hurdles, this film is glorious and reviews have been overwhelmingly and enthusiastically glowing. I hope Queen Aretha finally approved before she transitioned earlier this year (she blocked its release several times), and that she would now be pleased that her adoring fans and music enthusiasts will finally see and hear this piece of visual and musical heaven and history. "Amazing Grace" will be hit theaters in early 2019.
