in honor of almost three months of beautiful beautiful pain meds (havent had a super bad day in a long time! tomorrow it will be a month since a bad bad bad day. woah.), how is jameson doing? can i pass a bit of the chronic pain luck to him?

Anon, it is my most fervent hope that you continue to receive only the best pain meds forever and always! Sorry for not having responded to this when you originally sent it. I had planned to do a lil write but then, um, the empire is collapsing and my brain has Not Been Well. So.

Just wanted to say Jameson appreciates the good pain meds wishes and wanted you to know he took a walk with Allyn yesterday and felt good enough he only used one of his braces for support. And after a soaking bath, he still felt good enough to only use the one brace all night, too.

I saw one anon mention that Jameson and Hank’s pre-murder/wru relationship would be like the Sturniolo triplets and I just want to throw in Nick’s Pancake, waffle, French toast rant is extremely Jameson core in my opinion🤣

Oooooh I could see that! Hank and Jonathan always got along really well, right up until they had the argument the night Hank died. It's part of why Jonathan carried so much guilt and why Jameson works so hard not to remember it.

I saw that you have an ask concerning Jameson in your inbox, so I just want to share that I'm just done rewatching Interview With The Vampire and I absolutely adored Dreamstat but couldn't remember what he made me think of until I thought of Jameson - then I realized Dream Nanda is somewhat similar and just as lovely! Hopefully this will guide you towards something\give you inspiration <3 and if not, consider it a love letter from a fan

Nanda is honestly so fun to write, he always was. I like getting to tread that very thin line where he is fully and very much a villain in Jameson's story, but Jameson doesn't see or remember him that way... not really, not entirely.

Only as he heals and finds a more balanced future and finds love with Allyn does he start to realize how thoroughly Nanda could move between cruelty and affection in a way that kept Jameson's unnamed former self off-balance and never able to hold his own.

Hell, he is struggling a little with the understanding that everyone else in the house was named by their captors/owners, but he wasn't. Nanda didn't ever even bother to give him a name.

That had to be a purposeful sign of how little he mattered, right?

... Right?

Do you have a name for Jameson’s story? I know you name some of them and I’m just curious!

It doesn't have its own name, I usually think of it as a subset of the Little More Than a Chance/new rescues set. I think if I named it, it would be Blood On My Tongue or Worse Than Death.

It was so hard choosing just a few of your awesome characters but I'm going with these six!!

Do they view their relationship as temporary or permanent?

That depends on when in the relationship and which one you ask. Jake always saw it as permanent. Once Kauri was willing and able to be with him, he never hesitated to believe that, because Kauri was always the Love of His Life, someone he had been pining after and in love with for years before they were ever able to really be together.

Kauri, on the other hand, wasn't as certain. He was sure it was temporary at first, because he was sure Jake would realize all the ways Owen had damaged him and not want him any longer. Kauri has never been wanted for KAURI, he was always meant to try and be someone else, a stand-in with Vince's face but with a sweeter obedience and neediness. So it took him a while to believe, even after they got together, that Jake could keep loving him for long after he moved in.

Now, he would believe it's permanent, but less strongly than Jake does. some part of him is still waiting for - and worried about - when Jake realizes Kauri isn't good enough for him.

What is one quality they have in common?

Misae and Anaya both have a kind of whimsicality and wonder in the world at heart. Anaya is a sweet, sardonic, and bright-eyed woman who can find beauty in just about anything, largely because she is determined to do so. Misae is a sweet kid who finds wonder in no small part because he just hasn't seen most things before.

Both of them are deeply kind in their natures, and compassionate. And both of them think Eden is the best man on earth. For very, very different reasons.

How would they describe each other if asked? Physically? In personality?

Allyn would tell you that Jameson is stubborn and strong, two things they deeply envy. They could never stand up against the misfortunes he has faced, they would have collapsed or cracked apart. They adore his wry, sarcastic dark humor and how wonderfully he takes commands in bed, letting them learn all about how good it feels to be the one giving the orders and enjoying just about anything they do. They find him wildly handsome, and love his dark hair that seems to be growing in softer now that it's all coming back.

Jameson would tell you that Allyn is incredible, and struggle to describe them to you because his awe doesn't really have words. When he says they are beautiful, he doesn't only mean on the outside, but he isn't sure how to elaborate. They're beautiful because they are soft, despite everything that has happened to them. He could never have survived with softness - he would have been drowned or lost hope. He loves that they are gentle and quiet and sweet but then turn wicked and pull his hair until it hurts. That they are a little indecisive everywhere but the bedroom, where they turn into a new person, someone he thinks is far closer to who they once were.

And their long, lanky body is a dream, so much skin for him to kiss, so many freckles to map with his fingers.

Jameson stares at you with a look that can only be described as both skeptical and angry. "Is that a bondage joke?"

Allyn smiles, a little dreamily, top teeth just pressing into their bottom lip. "The pool," The say after a pause. "I miss being able to swim every single day, I miss being able to swim naked."

Jameson's eyebrows raise. "Wait, was that an option?"

Allyn grins. "It was with my master."

Chris looks... profoundly uncomfortable on every possible level with this question. His foot taps. His fingers twist and pull at the hem of his oversized black t-shirt. "I, um. I, I... do, do I have to? I don't, I don't, um, I, I-I... don't want to. Any. But... I guess... The, the, the don't make a sound... game. It... didn't usually... hurt. Not, not, um... not on the outside."
