GALERIE MATHGOTH, PARIS
by James Reka
A product of the graffiti culture of Melbourne's alleyways and train lines, influenced by a Pop-Art logo design background, James Reka's creations have come to represent a new clean and refined style of street art. Now based in Berlin Reka's work has become known for its fusion of high and low art and his strong lines and bold colors have transformed urban environments on three continents. While no longer just painting on the street—"much to his mother's joy" he says—Paris's @Galerie_Mathgoth brought Reka to the city's 13th arrondissement in 2015 and he spent the last week of July high in the air over the corner of Rue Regnault and Rue de Chevaleret painting his largest wall to date. @rekaone/
