Ouhhh I love your artstyle and the things that you do with the characters! Can I ask what your Jonathan looks like, and maybe hear some of his lore?

thank you, that's really awesome to hear!!! tbh I haven't draw much of my Jo, and most everything that I have drawn I've posted lol (search Jamsverse Jonathan on my blog and you should find all of it) but I realize now that I never posted my refs for him. They're low-key a year old but here ye go:

For his lore I've mostly decided to base it around the Scarecrow: Year One backstory, because that one is my favorite- so he was abandoned by his mother with his grandma, she's abusive and Christian, something something crows, he kills her at some point (to be so honest, when it comes to childhoods for my rogues, I just have a bunch of vague ideas that sound better in my head than written out in a textpost lol).

He worked as a professor before being fired for "misconduct" (aka the gun incident) and slinking off to work on his fear toxin and be a psychiatrist at Arkham. I love love love him and Harley being Arkham coworker buddies before they became Arkham inmate buddies, so they're important parts of each other's stories. Uhhh don't ask me how yet I just know that they are.

Scarecrow is genuinely my favorite rogue (like I love eddie but it isn't even close) but you would NOT be able to tell with how little I draw the guy 😭 thank you so much for the ask tho :D they make me feel so happy and help me to keep drawing and making things :] it felt good to think about these goobers again, I need to draw more Jamsverse stuff lol

absolutely love how you draw Ivy!! may I ask what's her lore if she has one ? and is she friends with any of the other rogues? :P

ok honestly I don't have a whole lot of lore for Ivy yet bc I haven't read a lot of her comics :P but so far I have the basic framework of: abusive childhood -> loves plants -> becomes botanist -> either some kind of accident or experiment gone wrong results in her getting powers and becoming connected to The Green -> tries to figure this out and maybe kills a few people -> something something idk yet (i lowkey don't know what to do with her story tbh)

when it comes to her friends, i'm a big enjoyer of the Gotham City Sirens, so she's totally a trio with Harley and Selina (with Harley essentially being her girlfriend, and Selina being an off-and-on "frenemies with benefits thing"). she occasionally interacts with Edward via them but she doesn't like him lmao. they can get along for the sake of their mutual friends, or if there's some kind of dire situation that requires teamwork, but she does not have the patience for his shenanigans and just finds him kind of annoying a lot of the time. I like the idea of her and Jo hanging out, doing chemistry stuff and aurafarming, maybe creating some kind of fear toxin-plant hybrid thing?? I think her and Harvey would be friends just because they used to date before either one went rogue, and they semi-kept in touch. but other than the ones i listed, i don't think she would want to spend much time around other people. she's very antisocial and much prefers the company of plants to human beings.

what were ypur rogues professions before they became villans? do any of them still have them?

okay so, my Edward worked at the cybercrimes division at the GCPD (as an intern at first until eventually being hired full-time) and as the riddler I don't think he ever got another job or had any kind of civilian identity because he just finds it really boring. he eventually was somewhat reformed and started working as a PI tho (I love detective eddie so much you don't even know)

For Selina, I go with the Year One backstory where she used to be a sex worker and a thief. she still has a civilian life after becoming Catwoman (she is a socialite and animal activist) and runs some animal shelters across the city

Jo was a psych teacher at a university, got fired because he did the whole "shooting off a gun in class" thing, and ended up as a psychologist in Arkham. I think for a while he worked at Arkham while also being the scarecrow, but after his identity was revealed he never pursued any other kind of career, just because he's too recognizable and also doesn't consider it a good use of his time. I’ve toyed with the idea of him getting back into teaching if he ever gets reformed tho.

Harley was, of course, an intern at Arkham for a few years (it's where she first met Jo). she was a psychologist there for less than a year, before becoming a rogue. After a while she starts doing free therapy sessions for villains, and when she’s older she ends up at a youth detention center as a counselor

Ivy was a botanist, specializing in plant genetics and environmentalism. she def doesn't get any kind of job again after becoming Poison Ivy, since the last thing she wants to do is spend her time mingling with a bunch of humans.

Okay speed round: Jervis was a neuroscientist, Waylon worked at a circus and then as a security guard, Pyg was a plastic surgeon, Darius (music meister) was a theatre technician, then an actor, and later a lounge singer, Harvey was a DA and probably does it again after being reformed, and that’s all I can think of right now :D

how did Edward lose his leg?

okay I haven't ironed out the details, but the main thing is that he lost it around 1-2 years into being the riddler (when he was around 25 or so). he fucked up when planting a bomb for one of her bigger schemes and ended up losing his leg and hearing in his left ear. He was in the hospital for a WHILE and was under police surveillance every minute of it :(

He despises being reminded of the incident by the vigilantes or other rogues because she sees it as a really humiliating failure, but he's managed to work with the disability by adding small hidden compartments to the prosthetic, and giving it the function to easily switch between running mode and normal mode :]

I did it initially bc I remember seeing @retrovrt's riddler design and being like: "omg I should do that too :0" they're so cool go check them out
