Jan Davis

(born 1953) Astronaut and engineer

Nancy Jan Davis received her PhD in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Alabama in Huntsville. Davis logged more than 650 hours in space during three different Space Shuttle missions serving as Mission Specialist or Payload Commander. She later served as NASA’s Director of Human Exploration and Development of Space. She retired from NASA in 2005 and currently works at Jacobs Engineering.
