Jatei and #11 please?
“Don’t you dare throw that snowba-Goddammit!”
When Jana first came to Stoneybridge, the concept of balling together a bunch of snow in your hand and then throwing it at someone seemed absurd and strange.
But now, when winter comes and the snow gathers on the streets of Newcastle, snowball fights are one of her favourite things.
Much to Matei’s surprise–and despair, when he turns around to see her balling together some snow between two gloved hands. A wicked grin is on her face, and he groans.“Jana…,” he starts, his tone already begging. “Jana–” she holds up the snowball, getting ready to aim, “don’t you dare throw that snowba–Goddamit!!!”Jana’s laugh is nothing short of a gleeful cackle. Snow covers his face, the cold stinging his skin, and it settles against his dark hair.
He splutters.
Matei doesn’t have any other choice but to shake off the snow in his hair and make a snowball of his own to return the favour.
Jana’s next noise is a mixture of a laugh and a scream as his snowball hits her. She runs away, still trying to make her next snowball without stumbling. He catches up with her and wraps his arms around her waist from behind, holding up a new snowball in front of her face in mock-threat.
“Do you surrender?” He asks, voice in her ear.
“Never!” Jana giggles.
Matei splats the snowball right on her head, but she surprises him by turning around in his grasp and hitting him with one right in the face.
“Oi!” Matei protests, swiping his hand over his face and shaking off the snow. But he’s grinning, and Jana’s laughing up at him. She reaches up to help brush the snowflakes away, and he pulls her in by the waist.
“I love snowball fights.” She says with a grin.
Smirking, Matei holds her close with a hand on the small of her back. “You don’t say?” And then she laughs, and he leans in to press a kiss to her lips, and suddenly they’re not so cold anymore.
First time I’ve ever written MateixJana (literally, EVER, I don’t even have any drafts in my documents or anything) so this is a momentous occasion. I kept writing Aran by accident oops.
Thanks for asking! :)
