( ‘ 가을 : ) “… ––– oh,”  he frees a blind exclamation, a quotation mark in between his thoughts and slow lips. studying her tone and expression, gaeul lets his mental objects churn. the gentle crinkle in the middle of her forehead indicates a mild chagrin, with her thinly pursed lips named concern. no matter how disquieted she seemed, her tone was always gentle: as dulcet as how she would fill him in her eyes. 

the addled stranger hastens away from them, and gaeul offers his full attention for her with his hands on knees. bom’s voice blends in with the resounding cries of cicadas, a nearby subway station, the aestival wind that heaves past the two. his gaze seems unfilled, though his thoughts not; he gently removes the long strands of hair that curtains her sight, and smiles as gently as her own coy plaint.

“if asking where the nearest subway station is the trend of asking someone out nowadays, then it’s really got to go.”  with the sky saturated to its most vibrant blue, the warmth overcharges his affection for her beyond the bounds; leaving him in a cloudless simper. gaeul takes her hand and gently rocks it back and forth with his own, ready to wait as long as needed to confirm her solace. despite her genuine concern, he still finds all of her as lovable as the summer air.  

“all i care about right now is you being worried over nothing. it’s… overly endearing, though i’m not sure if you’re aware of it already.”

[ 가을: ] he whispers a discreet ‘fuck’ as he stands there, panic-stricken. elbow on door frame, other hand on waist, he falters sloppily ; managing a simper that is nothing more than open-to-question.

         “i–––heya babe,” head follows the angle of her’s, tipping to the side as he barely manages to continue in a poised tone. “i didn’t know y’were into surprise visits–––i mean, i love it, i love that you’re here, but y’see, my place is a mess. it’s like someone dropped a bomb in there.” his voice cracks. all the more farfetched.
