Some cute behind the scenes photos of Lorraine Briggs (in the purple top) and Jane Evans (in the red plaid shirt), and their horse Neighomi, from the Saddle Up! TV show 😄
Some backstory:
Jane moved to Chesnut Ridge in her teens along with her moms, one of whom now works as a farrier and the other as a vet, and two sisters while Lorraine had been living there her whole life and started riding horses almost as soon as she could walk. They clashed when they met, with Jane pegging Lorraine as a snob and Lorraine thinking that Jane was too blunt and brash. They were frenemies for a bit but as they got older, they just became friends who sometimes didn't see eye to eye but had each other’s backs.
In their adult years, though, something started to change between them. On a night out at the bar, they ended up kissing and Jane's been on cloud nine ever since, but she's also hesitant. Lorraine's world is so different from hers, Jane's older sister Meghan runs a local ranch that's no frills but well maintained and is dedicated to helping out the community and offers chances to riders of all ages and backgrounds to participate and enjoy and board their horses. Lorraine grew up in rich and manicured equestrian centers where it was harder to get into. Still, they're trying to make it work and Jane is imagining a life with Lorraine already.
Edit: yesterday, I had the one of the most intense Ramdan Migraines ever from a lack of proper sleep, and it came with chills, shakes, heat flashes, and nausea. Usually if I have a migraine, I drink water and pop a midol or tylenol and take it easy, but in Ramdan you can't drink water or eat meds* or it breaks your fast. There are exceptions like if you're almost fainting and need to drink water or you need medication to live/function like maybe someone who has medication that needs to be injected througout the day, but otherwise you have to just bear it as best you can 😳. So I came home early from work and spent most of the day resting and napping til the fast opened and even this morning I still feel a bit zombie-adjacent. 😅
