I just wish V's and Qhuinn's bisexuality was mentioned more in books.. tbh V's was only mentioned when he was "in love" with Butch and Qhuinn's when he was sleeping around with women.. and now V has a female and Qhuinn has a male and it's like they're 100% straight/gay and that's one huge fucking bullshit.

 After all this time I finally got to reading more of the BDB series. As a continuation from here, about V’s and Phury’s story—

I really liked Jane’s personality she had some funny reactions that felt relatable but I was worried to see her throw her life’s work away to be with the Brothers so I was pleasantly surprised! I liked how she chose to put her talents and ambition to use in then end instead of just ditching them 😊 I think it was cute how Jane and V don’t run away from each other more so like they have to separate which I mean 10/10 for all the angst 👌 that painnn at their separation ahh yesss 😭 I like how head over heels V seemed to become for Jane almost instantly which, imo, I feel can be a bit annoying (see Beth and Wrath) how fast paced the relationships evolve but with all the stuff V suffered— the complicated relationship with his Mother, who I hated, still do a little, but let me tell you that ending with the birds got me 🥺 plus the shit awful father he had to endure 😭 I was so happy for him. In the end not my fave but definitely up there plus that dom/sub scene was 👀 especially what it meant for V 🖤 A plus for the little crumbs I got on Phury’s set up and my fave trio John, Blayne, and Qhuinn and all that build up👌

Phury’s book had so many split in pov’s I was everywhere but JR Ward made me interested in all the characters so far favorite trio— John my sweet heart 😭 I just want to hug all the time with his gentle giant vibe. And Blayne that little adorable red head I can’t deny I was heartbroken for him for what Quinn said. But of the three Quinn was my fave 👌 wonderful. I have to say Rhevenge is a fave too. A bit annoyed at how blind Phury was to Cormias neglect buttt about Cormia… Cormia and her sisters in that Chosen coven, how they were treated and bred, just made me want to go feral with anger for those poor girls 😡 JR Ward solving that issue in the end was a major plus and to say I was glad is an understatement. Phury’s addiction processing was so sad to read—him suffering in an unrecognized way especially when compared to his twins torture but still definitely valid I was just 💔. I still didn’t really care for Bella though I’m sorry 😭 . I like that we went from V and Jane’s story which was very sexual to Phury’s and Cormia’s which I think there was a total of like 3 sex scenes which made it feel more like a slow burn in comparison to the rest 👍. Not a fave but it was good! the parts with Rhevenge though 😩 The twist with Lash, and the one with Tohr!! Excited for Rhevenge’s story 👀

Specialized Transition Program Paves the Way for Recovery and Independence

Riding a bicycle comes as second nature to most 15-year-old boys. But for Richie Jacob, it was a major milestone. Three months earlier, Richie couldn’t walk. He could barely talk. Doctors gave him a 50 percent chance of survival.

On February 4, Richie was involved in a serious car accident. He suffered from life-threatening injuries including brain swelling; a fractured skull, nose, and jaw; collapsed lung; and broken ribs. He remained in a coma for two and a half weeks, leaving his family and friends in shock.

Miraculously, Richie beat the odds and emerged from his coma. He began his rehabilitation at Kernan Hospital, but the Kernan staff suggested Richie’s family contact the Specialized Transition Program (STP) at Kennedy Krieger Institute a comprehensive rehabilitation day hospital that strives to transition children and teens who are undergoing neurorehabilitation services back into their home, community and school lives.

Established in 1995, the program treats patients who no longer need around-the-clock medical observation but who still require care that makes full integration into a community possible. Most patients come to the center five days a week for four to six weeks. “Our goal for all kids is to get them reintegrated into the most appropriate community setting,” says Joan Carney, Director of the STP. As a result of the car accident, Richie had trouble processing information and multi-tasking. He also had trouble finding the right words to describe his emotions.

Richie’s days at STP included physical therapy to increase his motor skills, occupational therapy to improve his ability to work in a group and follow directions, and speech therapy and classroom time to evaluate how much education he had retained. STP staff often work with a student’s home school system to determine the best course of action. In Richie’s case, the Anne Arundel County school system approved STP as a transitional school placement for Richie and arranged daily transportation.

“We focus heavily on educational reintegration,” Carney says. “We have our own teachers and a devoted staff who talk with parents and schools every step of the way.” It’s that dedication and day-to-day contact that distinguishes STP from other rehabilitation programs, says Jane Whitcomb, Richie’s mother. “I have nothing but good things to say about the program. They really keep in touch with parents, and they seem genuinely concerned about their patients.” Richie made tremendous progress throughout his time at STP. Along with riding a bike again, Richie has regained his sense of humor and is looking forward to getting back to his daily routines. “Richie’s made a lot of progress,” says his mother. “He’s a miracle boy.”
