I haven’t posted Janelene in a bit, so here is them in a prequel!
An Archive of Our Own, a project of the Organization for Transformative Works
WIP Wednesday- Tutor AU Prequel
Battle of the Tutors is soon to be its own little universe! I'm currently working on a side story focusing on how Darlene and Jane got together. So Janelene nation rise!
But then a slow song came on, and the two were left to their own devices.
“Should we go sit down?” Jane asked her.
Darlene looked around nervously, “We could just wait it out,” she thought for a moment, “I’ve never had a real slow dance before,”
She remembered that she was too tall to comfortably dance with the boys in middle school. Jane danced with any boy or girl she wanted.
“Everyone should have at least one slow dance, it’s a rite of passage,” Jane told her, snaking her arms around Darlene’s shoulders.
Darlene put her hands on Jane’s waist, and they swayed to the music. They had almost a foot of room between them as they danced together.
Thankfully, the song was over, and the music changed to something more upbeat.
The two let go of each other, awkwardness clinging in the air.
“We should go to the photo booth!”
Thank God for Myki Meeks and her incredible timing.
