Preference: Your First Time In Ireland
Niall tweeted shortly after you text him of your arrival. You were finally going to spend time with him in Ireland. He was off for a holiday and there wasn't anything he wanted more than to spend it with you. You grabbed your carry-on bags and headed for baggage claim. You moved quickly because of all your excitement. You had a surprise planned for him. A few weeks before you left for Ireland, Niall called and explained that he wouldn't be able to pick you up at the airport because of some promo work he had to do. Of course you were slightly disappointed but you knew it was a part of his job. He apologized multiple times which only made you reassure him that it was alright and that you can handle yourself. He mailed you the key to his house so you thought you would make him dinner as a surprise. Niall loved your cooking and you always made sure to bake him desserts too. As you got on the escalator, you could see a group of people standing at the bottom. The closer you got you could tell that it was mainly girls and they were surrounding a man dressed in a tuxedo with a driver’s hat on. He was holding up a sign over his face
“Y/N” was written on the sign. Your heart jumped a little and you smiled and shook your head. “Niall” You said as you got off the escalator. You couldn't believe he got you a driver when you already explained to him that you could find your way to his house even if it was your first time in Ireland.
“I could’ve taken a taxi” You whispered walking closer to the driver. A girl whispered to the driver as you approached. “She’s coming” She said with a bright smile as she waved excitedly at you.
“Hi, I’m (Y/N), thanks for coming to pick me up” You said extending your hand.
The driver lowers the sign revealing a smiling blonde blue eyed boy. “I had to pick up my princess” Niall says as his braces sparkled. The fans around you clapped as you covered your blushing face. “Babe!! Ehhhh You got me good!”
“Thank you. I try” Niall says tipping his hat and pulling you into a hug. You both got in his car after you got your bags. He held your hand as he drove. You smiled and glanced at him lovingly “You know you look sexy with that driver’s hat on” You said turning towards him.
He blushed and smiled. “I thought you would like it” He said squeezing your hand a little. He repeated glanced over at you as he drove. He would make funny faces every time the car would stop.
He finally got to a red light and pouted his lips at you. You happily replied with a kiss.
“So babe, what are we doing today?” You asked.
“Nothing, I knew you would be tired from the plane ride so I made sure the house was cozy for ya to rest.” He said kissing your hand.
“That was very sweet of you but I’m really not tired! I want to look around. I’m too excited to sleep now!” You said
“Are you sure?” Niall asked anxiously.
“Of course! I want to see the places you like to go” You answered holding his hand up to your chest.
“Okay I know just where to take you” Niall said with a determined look on his face. As the sun was setting, he pulled up to bank of a lake. You both jumped out of the car. Walking towards a tree by the edge of the lake, Niall walks ahead of you.
“This is lough ennell” Niall said trying his best to sound like a tour guide as he did various hand gestures. You giggled “Fail”
He laughed “But yeah this is where me and mah mates would hang out. Drink a couple pints and just chill”
“It’s very pretty” You said walking over to a boat. “Can we go out on the water?”
“Ahh…sure, get in and wait for me I’ll be right back.” Niall smirked to himself as he walked back towards the car. You carefully stepped into the boat and sat down as you waited for him to return.
“Alright close your eyes!” Niall said from behind the car.
“What? How did this turn into a surprise?” You smiled as you obeyed and closed your eyes. “You’re very sneaky Mr.Horan”
“It’s just a little surprise, Princess. Just something I thought up on the spot.” Niall said as he pushed the boat into the water.
Once you guys were in the middle of the lake, you could feel movement in the boat. As your eyes twitched with anticipation, you could hear the pluck of a guitar sting. You couldn’t help but start smiling to yourself
“Ahh fuck! You might as well open your eyes now” Niall said nervously smiling. He had his guitar in hand and changed into a short sleeve shirt.
Your eyes were glued to him. He knew how much you loved it when he played guitar and he always gives you private shows on Skype but this time was so different. You’ve seen him perform at concerts but this time it was just for you. You were the only fan at this concert and you had never felt as deeply in love as you were feeling in this moment.
Niall looked into your loving eyes and smiled back at you as he started singing “Little Things”
You were amazed by how beautiful he looked and how much better his guitar skills had gotten. He finished the song with his verse “And you'll never love yourself half as much as I love you….”
You couldn’t help but wipe the tears from your face. With all the stress of a long distance relationship and dating a celebrity, you never doubted his love for you but something about him singing it to you in Ireland made you beyond happy.
He wipes the tears off your cheeks and holds your face gently in his hands.
“I know I say it a lot but nothing in this world makes me happier than being with you…I just want you to know that I will always love you no matter what!” Niall confesses as he presses his forehead to yours.
“No matter how many times you say it, I’ll never get tired of it. I’ll always be by your side because what princess leaves her prince?” You replied looking at him then kissing him softly.
As night fell, Niall covered the boat floor with a small blanket. You laid on his chest as you looked up at the stars. You ultimately fell asleep on him, he covered you in the blanket and carried you to the car tucking you in once you get to his house. He watched as you slept and kissed you on the forehead. Perfect ending to a perfect day
