Free Online Resources to Learn Japanese

Hi, luvs welcome to my account! Anyways let’s get straight to the point, relatively free resources to use for Japanese:

Japanese Pod’s Youtube

Japanesepod101.com is a subscription service where you have special access to educational content by native speakers. Fortunately, they provide a youtube channel filled with their educational videos for you to use. I will give the channel link and playlist links for beginners (if you are a higher level than just check out their channel).

Duolingo

Duolingo is the #1 app and website to learn a language. They offer it completely free unless you’d like to pay a small monthly fee for no ads. You can learn almost any language on there including fantasy languages.

Tofugu

Tofugu is really a website-blog that educates mostly native-English speakers about Japan’s language and culture. However, they offer a mini guide to getting down the basics and provide little worksheets that help a lot. Their website also offers pronunciation guides for the writing systems. I will provide a link to their podcast as well which talks about the Japanese language and Japanese culture and is very funny!

The Japanese Friend Exchange is an online program for people to find penpals, friends, and even romance. They give small lessons to begin your journey on learning Japanese which is very beneficial for students.

JapanSocietyNYC is an established company in New York to prepare people for Japan’s culture and they offer in-person Japanese classes.  Their youtube gives insight on Japan and information on immigration/government.

Day 60 of 365 of 2018: 日本人のルームメイト (Japanese Roommate) Kazuho has been by roommate since May 2017. He is in a working holiday program, studying English in downtown and working as a cook at a vegetarian restaurant. However, today is his last day as my roommate. I am so proud of what he has done so far. He will accomplish so many things in the future.
