First thought to be another Tangrowth, it turns out today's Beta Pokemon of the Day is a different species entirely!

Jungela's eyes are hidden behind its vines. Our researchers are working to see if they do indeed exist.

I like Tangrowth well enough but its beta form is super endearing.  The little loopies up top and the curlies on the side make Jaranra look like it’s got an ornate princess hairstyle.  It also has a fun smile.  Tangrowth isn’t smiling!

Jaranra/Gelanla

Gamefreak created perfection, then scrapped it and went on to make Tangrowth instead. Why? I’m actually annoyed by this. Tangrowth is just a bigger Tangela with arms, while Jaranra is literally perfect. Look at her lack of actual feet! Look at that smile! Look at that beautifully styled, hair-mimicking mass of vines she probably uses as both arms and legs! She’s horrifying and lovely and deserves everything.
