A year ago today, the world lost an amazing creative force. David Bowie's influence on my life cannot be understated, he had power over me before I knew who David Bowie was, when he was just Jareth the Goblin King. Today I look at just a few ways he inspired me. My Jareth Funko Pop standing watch over my @DrunkenFandom Ziggy Stardust cocktails, my @lojmasquerade costume, which I atttnd as the white owl Jareth turns into, and my beautiful kitty, Jareth, whose eyes are miss matched, just like Bowie's. I went to visit his star today, and scatter a little glitter in his memory. I got to see the small shrine of flowers, art, letters, glitter, and bell peppers and milk that other fans left in homage. He inspired so many. Bowie wanted to be cremated and to go out without any fuss. I believe the best way to honor both his memory and his wishes is to create something, to do something in the way of positive social change... or just to sing a song. You changed my world, Mr Bowie.
