Mastery Journal Assignment
This month in my Mastery Journal was truly an enjoyable one. Learning about the different ways a story and be adapted into or changed to fit the TV/movie screens has been an interesting process. Throughout this month I have been working on my adaption of the short story, “The Gift of the Magi” which I entitled, “A Demon’s Love”.
In the original story, a woman by the name of Della is trying to find a gift for her boyfriend, Jim. Since she is broke, Della decides to cut off her hair and sell it for to get Jim a chain for his gold watch. When the couple exchanges gifts, Jim gives Della a set of combs to go in hair, in which he purchased by selling his watch. At the end of the day, they both sold something of importance to get the other items that neither of them would be able to use.
In my adaption of the story, Monica and Tracy are a lesbian couple who live in a world where human and demons can’t be together without getting thrown in prison. Monica is a human, while Tracy is a fire demon. Monica wants to go through a transformation of becoming a demon and giving up her humanity for Tracy, but Tracy disagrees because the transformation may cause her to lose Monica forever. Monica decides to undergo the transformation anyways so that they can be together, however, Tracy has turned herself in to stop Monica from being arrested.
I feel like with the things I learned this month on how to adapt stories into my own and into scripts, along with the idea I came up with this month, I could actually make this an interesting script of movie one day. It was extremely fun and I loved how I was able to create something on my own from someone else’s original story.

I tell people on an everyday basis that Google will take over the world. Simply for the fact that no matter who you are, where you are from, and what you are looking for, there will always be one place, you are bound to go and that is Google. Google is not only a search engine, but is connected to so many things from social media to email to youtube to GPS and the list is endless. Google is a company that continues to grow on a daily basis. Over the years, the Google company has made this search engine one that is interactive, always comes up with creative ideas to keep their viewers entertain, and also on occasions give you a history lesson.

Gerber
For as long as I can remember, their baby girl has been the face of everything that meant baby. No matter where I was or what I watched, as knew that once I saw this logo, it was meant for a baby. Gerber brand has been around since 1927 and has played a role in so many parents and children’s lives since its first production. There isn’t a person alive who has seen this baby and not know what it means or stands for.

McDonalds
Over the year, McDonald’s has had a little over 50 slogans and labels trademarked to their company. From their mascot of Ronald McDonald to their Golden Arch, it is pretty hard not to recognize anything affiliated with the brand. Over the last few years, McDonald’s slogan “I’m Lovin’ It” has brought a ring to everyone who hears it ears to know that what is to come next is one of the many items being advertised from Mcdonald’s. I for one know that I can’t hear the slogan without the picture of fresh fries out the grease and want to run to the closest branch.
