A local book store organizes a signing event for Priya's latest novel, Eat, Pray, Love. She is more than happy to meet her fans, and Sanjay is there to support her, of course.

[The actual "event" was Priya greeting other sims and talking to them about film and literature. I found it to be a fun addition to the regular gameplay.]

And that’s day 25 for the Jacquets and the Larsens.

The Jacquet - Larson household is next, the real rich family of Bluewater Village ever since they mastered serfing the waves of the stock market. And Guilbert and Jodie haven’t even received the money old Denise left them yet, the legal process moving slower than expected.  

A recap [some of it was in this family’s posts before I deleted my old blog and some relates to this rotation]:

Guilbert is nearing his retirement years by now. A long time ago, his mother Denise organised his marriage to her protégé Jodie (neé Larsen); the marriage turned out very successful, making Guilbert into an actual adult. He’s still a himbo at heart, but a handy one. Guilbert’s favorite past time is messing with his wife’s work equipment.

Jodie is the real head of the family. Denise put her through the med school, and by now she’s nearing the top of her medical career. She is mercantile but she’s not ashamed of it - she wouldn’t be where she is now (which is a very good place) otherwise.

Jasper is Jodie and Guilbert’s son. He’s started making his way into the big world by developing a complicated relationship with another wealthy heir, Marion Landgraab.

Jason Larsen is Jodie’s twin and a source of a good chunk of the family’s wealth. A broker bro at work - a soft and somewhat goofy guy at home. Jason is married to Tara (neé Kat), and together they have twin sons, Roman and Peter. Tara is the police’s friendly face. She’s too absent-minded and soft-spoken to actually police anything, so her making captain is clearly a PR thing.

Last but not least, Tara’s cats Samantha and Mickey remain soft and healthy.

Meanwhile Guilbert reaches his elderly years. He doesn’t plan to actually reture any time soon but he does have more time for his hobbies now.

After getting almost-a-love-letter from Anna, Jasper calls Marion to let her know. She comes over and... And it turns out that they are a) stupid and b) have been like, very much in love with each other all along. Long story short, they did what their respective respectable parents are gonna kill them for if they find out. What a mess!

[Initially Jasper had negative chemistry with Marion and 2 bolts with Anna, but Marion was the one whom ACR decided to work its drama magic on and I didn’t stop it because who can say no drama?]

A school day’s morning. Jason makes sure to give Peter a bit of extra attention: when the twins were little, Jason was working the longest hours and as a result, was only able to bond with Roman, leaving Peter on Tara and uncle Guilbert. Now is the time to rectify that.

Peter is getting closer with his father, but unlike his twin, he still prefers to come to uncle Guilbert for help. And it’s not surprising - Guilbert is very good to his nephews. He even tells them stories - and acts them out - until they fall asleep when their parents have to get up early. 

Or, more accurately, Roman falls asleep and Peter just pretends to. He’s had trouble staying asleep since he was a toddler, and the problem didn’t go away. He doesn’t know how to ask for help with that, however, so he just sneaks around the house in the dark, napping on the couch before school.

[Peter does wake up in the middle of the night instead of sleeping until 6 a.m. like everybody else in the house. I think it might be the custom bed’s fault but it makes for interesting character development. He’s definitely getting the “light sleeper” trait when he ages up next.]

It’s time for Roman and Peter to start school, so the headmaster of the same private school Jasper goes to is invited for dinner. He is very impressed with how studious and well prepared the boys are (and with a donation the family makes to the school), so of course, the twins are accepted.
