Hi. Could you do a jaspar imagine in which they’re in high school and are both part of the popular group but kinda hate each other. And then they sorta fall in love? Thanks x
“JOOOOE!” The loud screampierced through the hallways, still a bit far. “Where the fuck are you?!”
It made him burst outlaughing mid-sentence. He was walking beside Zoe, his older sister, and herboyfriend Alfie, having decided earlier that they would eat lunch together. Both looked at him skeptically.
“What did you do thistime Joseph?” Zoe inquired with a false reproaching tone and Joe showed themquickly the content of his backpack, knowing he had little time to startrunning. “You took his clothes?!”
A very naked Caspar Lee enteredtheir line of view in that moment, hair dripping wet as he slipped through thehallway, gaining a lot of screams and laughs. One of their teachers was runningbehind him, but couldn’t grab him. It was kind of hilarious, lanky sixteen-year-oldboy jumping in-between the students while screaming and being followed by theirtiny inspector. They would get in trouble for this, surely, but for Joe, it wasabsolutely worth it if he got to see distressed, embarrassed, angry Caspar.
The dispute between JoeSugg and Caspar Lee had started as some mild dislike. Joe was the new kid atschool and Caspar the popular one. Everyone thought Caspar was a bit rude tothe new kid because of how quickly he’d become part of the popular gang, maybefearing he would be replaced. But nothing was as far from the truth than those assumptions.Reality was, it all started because of Joe. It wasn’t on purpose, it was moreof a slip up the day they met. Joe hadn’t meant to come out as rude, he was thenew kid, he was supposed to be friendly, or so said Zoe. Moving from Wiltshireto London wasn’t an easy life change for a sixteen-year-old, after all.
Alfie wanted to introducehim to Caspar before the first class of the year, said they would probably getalong pretty well, but couldn’t find him and decided that introducing Joe to acouple of the blonde’s friends would be enough. They were all pretty nice andseemed to took an instant liking to Joe, treating him like an old friend fromthe start and introducing him to a lot of other people, including Caspar Lee.
If there’s one thing thatJoe knew before their fatidic meeting, was that everyone seemed to like Caspar. His first impression was actually quite good… for like two seconds. The guywas easy-going, funny, good-looking and a bit of a rebel at times. And despiteall that, once they bumped into each other, from the instant he opened hismouth Joe didn’t want nothing more than to roll his eyes and walk away.Because, first of all, clumsy people infuriated him and this blond guy goes andaccidentally loses balance whilewalking past Joe and throws his fucking gigantic chemistry book on Joe’s foot.Bloody nice.
“Sorry, sorry! I didn’tsee you down there,” the guy cheerfully chanted, taking the book from the floorwhile Joe repressed the instinct to scream out of pain. Instead, he smiled tensely.“How old are you? Are you sure you’re in the right building?”
Joe actually considered punchinghim, tired of hearing this kind of comments about his high, but somehow, hestayed, cocked up an eyebrow and snorted.
“I’m sixteen, now, if youexcuse…” he tried to simply walk away but the other took him by the arm, stopping him.
“Woah, I’m sixteen too! What’syour class? Are you new?” Caspar was too excited for that early in the morning.“You are tiny! Who would’ve thought you were my age, right?”
“Shut up, okay? Can you even do that? Besides, you’re abnormally tall and annoying,” he’d barked, finally having heard enough.“Bet not even your parents stand you”.
Caspar’s cheerfulexpression was replaced by a frown and hurt eyes, making Joe immediately regretlosing his temper that quickly. He’d wanted to apologize, he really did, butthe blond didn’t give him a chance.
“What an asshole,” he’d whisperedbefore walking away.
Once Joe discovered hewas, in fact, The Caspar Lee everyone kept talking about it was too late. Atfirst, Caspar simply acted cold and the intention to apologize resurfaced inJoe’s mind, but soon the coldness became sly comments thrown his way. It didn’thelp that all his friend were also Caspar’s friends, which meant they spend an awfulamount of time breathing the same fucking air. It took a couple of months andone special episode in the cafeteria were Caspar treated him like a little kidin front of a group of girls he’d been chatting with for Joe to make Caspar theofficial target of all his pranks. By now, he genuinely enjoyed their back andforth, even if he wouldn’t ever admit it. He pretended to still despise himbecause Caspar, clearly, still saw him as just an asshole. It was like atime-bomb. Joe knew he should just apologize and be nice for once, because itwasn’t Caspar’s fault he was such a moody teenager. But he didn’t and insteadkept making it worst, not liking whenever Caspar tried to stop interacting withhim at all.
And that’s how he ended runningfrom his classmate as fast as he could, laughing and barely breathing whennaked Caspar Lee tackled him in the hallway. Both of them ending on the floor,Joe trying to free himself from the other’s grip. It didn’t help his case thathe was half shouting to Caspar and half dying from laughter, not quite believingthe fact that the blond had rushed through the school with absolutely noclothes.
They ended up ondetention, obviously, and Joe didn’t mind at all until he saw the bitter lookon Caspar’s face when they met at the assigned room. He bit his bottom lip, knowing he’d made even more unlikely the possibility of them getting along one day.He sat down beside him anyways, testing the waters. It was their first detentiontogether, actually, and after a couple of boring minutes the teacher stood up,commanded them to not move and left, transforming it in the first time theywere alone since they met. After a couple of awkward minutes sitting there insilence Caspar spoke.
“I had things to dotoday, you know?” He didn’t look at Joe, but it wasn’t necessary, it was quiteclear he had his usual annoyed face on by the tone of his voice.
“Well… I knew you were abit exhibitionist but didn’t think you would go as far as running around schoolnaked.”
Joe didn’t get a responsebut saw Caspar shake his head slightly. He decided he didn’t feel like beingquiet, and if he was going to stay an hour and a half on that classroom withCaspar he could at least try and make the most out of it.
“Besides, what could youpossibly have to do better than this? Just look at that wall,” he pointed infront of them. “Isn’t she beautiful?”
“She?” Caspar snorted, still with an ironic edge in his voice. “Why the hell would the walls be a she?”
“Not the walls, idiot. This wall!” He gesticulated towards it. “She’s special, it’s the only one that’snot white in this school.”
Caspar blinked a coupleof times, looking intently at the wall and then turning to Joe completely, withchair and everything. His blue eyes were a bit unreadable to Joe, and heavoided them after a second.
“Wha-What? No!” Joelooked dumbfounded at Caspar, wondering what he was on about. “I think you areif you don’t see it’s light peach.”
“That’s not even a color,”he buffed but then proceeded to laugh and whisper under his breath, probably tohimself. “You are so weird.”
Silence fell between themagain and for a while Caspar stayed deep in thought and Joe couldn’t help tostare. During the months he’d known Caspar he would usually find himself in situationslike this, trying to figure out the other boy out, absolutely intrigued. Hewished it wasn’t true, but he’d spent hours thinking about Caspar, wonderinghow to get on his good side somedays and others wanting to absolutely erase himfrom his thoughts. Even now, he was aware of how illogical it was for him tothink so fucking much and highly about this guy that hated him, and he wassupposed to hate back. But, how could he? Yes, he was clumsy, a bit too loudand could be childish almost all the time, but he was genuine. His personalitywas simply different from anyone’s else and it amazed Joe all the time. Andmaybe the reason why he couldn’t stop pranking and messing up with him wasbecause he actually developed a crush on Caspar over the time, he liked him, maybe more than what he was willing to admit. It made him uneasy, it scared theshit out of him.
“You know… I agreed withwhat you said. That’s why it made me so mad,” Caspar started talking out of theblue again, taking him by surprise. Also, he had no idea what he was trying tosay and his expression must’ve been of utter confusion because the blonde startedto elaborate immediately. “What you said to me when we met, I would bet myparents can’t stand me too. I don’t know how can they if I keep messing up. I promisedthem I would stop getting in trouble this year and once they notice I won’tmake it to my sister’s birthday party because of detention that’s it, if theydid stand me before they won’t anymore. But yeah, whatever, what I’m trying tosay, I guess, is that I’m sorry for overreacting and treating you like shit allthis time.”
Joe’s heart startedraising. Was he serious? It was ridiculous, Caspar was apologizing when allthis time he’d been such an asshole to him.
“Are you kidding? That’sbullshit Caspar! Absolut bullshit,” he stated, suddenly forgetting how self-conscioushe usually felt around the other boy and letting his guard down. “I didn’t evenknow you! I just said whatever- this is so stupid, and your parents adore youfor God’s sake, have you seen how your mom looks at you? She’s so fuckingproud. I didn’t mean to make you feel bad, you’re amazing and I feel lucky evenif the only way I can keep you in my life is by being this annoying brat thatdoesn’t know when to stop fucking up.”
Caspar blinked at him, abit shocked at Joe’s outburst. But the smaller boy wasn’t ready, he actuallystood up and started walking around the room.
“I can’t believe youright now,” he rambled once again. “I’m so sorry I made you doubtyourself like this, I would never- I wouldn’t be able to think something likethat about you. And believe me, I think a shitload about you!”
He stopped himself, suddenly realizing what he just said and freezing. Scared, he looked up atCaspar who was staring at him in awe. He blushed and tried to find an excusebut his mind was absolutely fucked up at the moment. He turned around, unable to stand looking at those inquisitive blue eyes.
“Joe?” He heard the chairmoving and Caspar approaching him, but refused to look. “Have you- Do you likeme?”
He couldn’t respond tothat, he was petrified. Caspar would probably laugh, or worst, hate him evenmore. He was so pathetic.
“Joe, look at me,” Casparpleaded making him shake his head furiously. He felt Caspar hand on his waist, light as a feather, like he was a bit scared he would break. Joe felt likecrying and laughing hysterically all at once, this was so ridiculous, thiswhole situation.
“I’m sorry,” he managedto choke out, shivering when Caspar took a step closer.
Again, he just stayedsilent. This time Caspar’s other hand joined the first one, surrounding himwith warmth, and as he leaned even more he understood that maybe they’d bothbeen such fools all this time, pretending to hate each other but only managingto grow closer.
I’m so sorry it took me so long! I had to go find some Jaspar inspiration and it took me a while.
