That...had most definitely not been supposed to leave her mouth. Pearl is entirely unsure how it happened: yes, the thought had crossed her brain, but in no way had she ordered her mouth to open or, indeed, her vocal cords to vibrate in such a way as to form intelligible words.

And yet here they are. All because Jasper just had to be surprisingly - infuriatingly - attractive and because Pearl’s mouth just had to betray her and, look, sometimes when you’re busy being distracted by unfairly attractive Gems, human slang just slips out, okay? (She’s just glad Steven isn’t around.)

Nevertheless, her cheeks are bright blue, and she takes several small steps back, trying as best she can to backtrack out of this particular faux pas. “I - no! I - that is not - oh, don’t look so smug,” she finally snaps, hands snapping to her hips as if she can even pretend to be the appropriate one in this situation. “Arrogance is not an attractive feature.”

(Lie. The biggest damn lie she has told in a good while, actually, but Jasper doesn’t need to know that.)

character in general: oh jasp. you know when i started this blog i wasn’t a huge fan of jasper? i didn’t dislike her, but i didn’t love her. BUT NOW? i have to admit, i have fallen for the buff cheeto puff. i need more of her. so fierce. when will she return from the war. (honestly i mostly love her now because of how much depth people have put into their portrayals of her like!! wow it’s all your fault)how they play them: fantastic!! i love your jasper and also just your writing in general, like wow. we def need more threads and i cannot wait to reply to our shippy thread omg. the mun: total meme i mean sweetie. i’m so glad you’re back tbh, you’re a joy on my dash and lovely to talk to and i definitely want to get to know you more!

my opinion on;

character in general: let me tell you fam... i have had it up to HERE? not with jasper herself because i actively can’t blame her for her personality (and wouldn’t even if i could bc i think it’s great) but more for what the community tends to do with her. y’know, skip the whole “extremely dangerous professional babypuncher” aspect and go straight to Big Spicy Orange Space Mom Can Do No Wrong, More @ 11. alternatively they’ll demonize her altogether for the things she’s done and the way she acts... like that’s somehow totally unrelated to spawning straight from the Jerk Rock Capital?  i hate it!!! it’s the worst!!! i love jasper as a character when i’m not huffing about how these hooligans mistreat her tho. i can’t wait to see my favorite scary rock again

how they play them: you do an absolutely Splendid job of being just the opposite of what i described up there, honestly! you acknowledge all these aspects of her to me without making any of them too prominent or acting as if any one is her Entire Center? she’s multifaceted! (stealthy rock joke) she isn’t just some extra tall bully, but she’s also not some secretly kind and loving soul just Waiting to be nurtured either! she has a lot of potential and you work overtime making that obvious and for that i thank you

So many strange and new feelings were thrashing inside of her as Blue Tiger’s Eye followed the tall peridot down the orange corridors. There had only been two places Blue had been in since her creation. The first was the kindergarten that birthed her back on one of many colonized planets and the second was the lab that she was immediately sent to here on Homeworld. For so long it seemed that she had to undergo so many tests and trials. Anytime she tried to ask what they were for she was either told to be quiet or “That’s what we are trying to find out.” Today she was finally getting her answer.

Although the hallways had the warm, rich colors and shades of orange it felt so very cold to walk down them. Then again everything about Homeworld had felt cold to Blue. Any window they passed allowed the fading sunlight to flood into the building and Blue was grateful for those glimpses of warmth. but even those glimpses couldn’t shake off the chill of the unknown. All she had been told was that a place had finally been found for her. The slim peridot before her had been the one to monitor her growth and abilities ever since she came out of her hole in the clay mound. Blue had so many question to ask, she always did. But she knew now that it was better not to ask them. Apparently the only thing she knew about herself was that she wasn’t made to ask questions.

The two of them finally stopped in a large, round room that had the same orange color scheme as the hallway, but with yellow diamonds encircling the room. Blue was instructed to wait there as the peridot left. With a long sigh, Blue squatted down and cupped her face while bracing her elbows against her knees. she had to sped so much time standing straight and attentive that it felt good to just squish down when she could.

The peridot went to one of the many doors that made up the hallway and pressed her prosthetic finger on the video com to start communicating with the jasper that resided within.

“Facet 1C4R Cut 3KB, I have brought the new gem as we discussed. Meet us in the commons when you are prepared.”

((Sorry about giving Jasper an I.D. on my own, I just couldn’t see this NPC peridot referring to her any other way now thanks to “Message Received.” If you already have an ID for her I’m sorry.))
