🔶 Yellow Diamond 🔶

“ Oh? ” Yellow tilted her head. “ And HOW did that happened? ” she asked standing from her THRONE. She walked around, watching the gem closely, making sure of her position and tone. 

     Below her, the ground SHOOK as the Diamond took her steps. She could feel her hands tremble ; she did not want to get Steven put in danger. Perhaps a LIE would be for the best.

‘ ah --- uhm, your diamond,   i am not quite sure what   happened,  but  their  shipped  seemed  to  crash.  i   returned here after, so i am unsure whether they are   quite                           shattered                           yet. ’

‘ why must you be so damn RESILIENT ? ’

     The words erupted from her throat in a yell, her hands pulling at the chains she held. Teeth bit back into a snarl, feet pressing down against the liquid ground. Lapis Lazuli was getting tired of this CONSTANT fight for control --- she had been fighting for far too long. It seemed like YEARS already. 

‘ you’re N E V E R leaving this place, JASPER. ’

Peridot smiled awkwardly. She believes it, so that’s out of the way. Peridot wasn’t great a apologizing since in her mind, she was always right. She might have joined the Crystal Gems, but her ego stayed. “Lazuli, hear me out.” she paused and took a deep breath. “I’m sorry. I know just saying that will never be enough, but I hope that….. deep inside, you’ll find a way to forgive me.”

‘ while... i do not forgive you quite yet,    i will not harm you.   now tell me      ---     why are you here on the shoreline of   beach city ? i would assume you would HIDE from them. ’

     Pale blue fingers released from her palm, her posture implying she was not afraid Peridot would harm her. After all, the gem seemed weak now, small, fragile. Without her gem technology, Peridot did not seem FRIGHTENING.

                The word alone simply b u r n e d as it left her tongue. Oh how she detested the organic creatures, but she couldn’t hate whoever this ‘steven’ was. He helped one of her prized gems out of her prison, and she could respect him just a little bit for that. 

A hand raised to press against her lower lip lightly, eyes locking onto the other from underneath her cloak. Her free hand reached out halfway, a sort of signal for the other to come closer. It may have been hard to tell due to her stoic personality, but she adored all of them gems in her court. Some more than others, Lapis was one of them.

                    ❝ I’ll have to thank him…if we ever meet. ❞

Lies. There was no way she was going to go to earth for some human, but she would thank him. Mentally, and that’s about it.

     Pale blue lips parted slightly, as though she were to speak, but teeth sank gently into the lower, an expression of UNCERTAINTY washing over her face. Lying to her Diamond about what Steven was did not feel good --- but she was positive had Blue Diamond learned of Steven’s gem, of whose gem he adorned, he would be captured. A part of her wished to remain loyal towards Blue Diamond, while the other desired to protect Steven.

‘ my diamond --- wh--while he may be human, he is   not like the other humans you’ve seen... ’

      Her brow furrowed as she felt something akin to shame settle in her gut. Perhaps she could convince Blue Diamond not to harm her friend ; she doubted it, but it was a CHANCE.

‘ he---he shares ROSE QUARTZ’s gem,     you see ---   b-but  he means no harm or traitorous means against   the homeworld! he is not like Roze Quartz, so i ask of   you,            please     DO   NOT    HARM   HIM. ’

Just from looks alone you seem much different from us,   so I don’t want to judge your power until I’ve seen what you can   really do. Most do nowadays, it’s not surprising to see now with    how everything has changed. I guess not, with how we act now   I’m surprised we haven’t been wiped out already. Why are you   here then?❞

‘ i am TRAPPED, you see.   my --- my source of power has   been damaged slightly. i am capable of flight, but no longer   with this injury.   while i may be trapped, though, the it won’t   be long,   i assume,    before the homeworld comes to rid of   the organic life forms on this planet.      you need not to fear    of  me,     for  that  is  not  what  i  wish  for.     not  anymore. ’

aquamarine: where my muse feels most calm/relaxed

     any planet with WATER, any planet much like her home planet GJ1214b.

quartz: how my muse thinks other people see them

     lapis believes that many people see her as just a TOOL, something for them to USE. despite being in blue diamond’s court, she believes many gems dislike her.

ruby: a happiness headcanon

     while under the diamond’s authority, lapis was most happy when she was sent out on missions on her own. often, she would fly through the universe, taking her sweet time and enjoying the view of nebulae, planets, stars, etc. and it was soothing and fun for her. she did not need an airship, like most gems, considering she had her wings.

As the other’s words BELLOWED out, Peridot took a small step back. She couldn’t remember a time when anyone y e l l e d at her like that. Sure, Garnet spoke loudly to her once, and Yellow Diamond certainly didn’t have many kind words, but no one had ever SHOUTED at her, and that caused the smaller gem to practically r e t r e a t. It almost made her want to retreat back into her gem. It made her feel smaller, weaker than she ALREADY felt.

Gritting her teeth, she looked away. She could feel some sort of liquid substance filling up in the corners of her eyes. There was nothing about this feeling that she could understand. Even working under Yellow Diamond, she never felt so… H U R T about anything. She knew what was awaiting Lapis if she went back. She KNEW the other would only be thrown back into prison. Earth was so much more free; Earth had so many qualities that Homeworld just didn’t possess. However, after that outburst, Peridot was afraid to say ANYTHING. Small hands curled into fists as she stood there silently, trying hard to think about something to say, anything at all. Her mind drew a blank. The only words that came to her mind left her lips in a faint whisper.

      || : ❝ I… Was only trying to help… ❞

     As the final word left her lips, blue hues went wide, brow shooting up, as though she were surprised with herself ( shocked would perhaps be an understatement ). SLOWLY, stiff hands released ; a RED liquid slowly ran down her hands, small droplets falling from her fingers. Something inside her churned --- she felt bad, perhaps. Her lips parted slightly as she could feel an " I’M SORRY " boiling in her throat but the words got caught in her throat as she heard Peridot.

     It was F A I N T, but she heard it nonetheless. Tears began to run down her face --- it was not often she cried ; crying was often considered a show of WEAKNESS. The water around her stilled, and she simply stared at Peridot for a few moments. Steven had said to let him help as well --- maybe it was her OWN FAULT for pushing everyone away that she was suffering. Maybe, it was time to let someone in. 

‘ i’m --- i’m sorry, peridot. i --- i didn’t mean to yell at you   like that...   i’m just --- i’m just so scared ; i feel like i have   no where to go anymore.   i feel L O S T. i don’t know   what to do anymore.      i don’t know who i am anymore. ’
