Skyline Trail, Jasper National Park, Alberta, Canada
August 14th, 2018 (1) Sunset Peak, Jasper National Park, Alberta, Canada We hiked a total of 22 km (13.7 miles) with an elevation gain of 600 m (1969 feet) during a surreal smoky day. We met grizzly bears, a female with three cubs, luckily far enough to see them and get away talking in a loud voice... See the picture with the green arrow (part 2 of the post). Anyway, the Skyline trail is a superb path.
Still pretty smokey today as you can see in the first picture. We stuck mostly to waterfalls instead of view points and lakes hoping for better conditions on our way back down tomorrow. And by the end of the day we actually had some blue sky!! Here’s to hoping it sticks with that trend and have even less smoke tomorrow.
