I'm breaking my hiatus for just this one post. Today was horribly difficult. I had my go-to people to call, but no one was available, answering machines were full, it was a weird time of the day, and I just desperately needed to talk about my boy. Jasper is teaching the rest of the kids bad habits. It use to be that crumbs and tidbits were left alone on the plate without mom or dad needing to worry about food thieves. Tonight I was enjoying a midnight grilled turkey cheese sandwich, I put the plate of crusts to the side, turned away to pick up my tea, and when I turned back a split moment later this is happening. Strax has never before done this without my permission! It is 2.50 AM CST, and it is 56°F outside. I got up for a late-night snack to find these two. Jasper pretends he doesn't want love, but I think it's his way of testing the boundaries with the other cats. Felix pretends to be a big bully, but he's really the sweetest protective love-bug. My handsome boys. My protective boys. My handsome, protective, sleepy, bed-hogging boys. It is currently 1.45 AM, and they are all strategically set on the bed in such ways that I am unable to get comfortable. Rose never snuggles, I wish she would but I don't blame her for wanting personal space. She fully enjoys her space during the night because during the day her big brothers all pick on her and smother her for tag and snuggles and naps. No sleep means it's bible study time.
