Character Blurb: May Tinsdale
May was quite comfy in her little hideaway. Honestly the end of the world had come at a great time for her. That group she’d screwed over had been getting a little too close for comfort. But now? With the apocalypse, everyone had bigger worried than grudges and pretty girls who hacked into anything to their hearts content. Of course, a lot of the infrastructure had fallen and failed, but the places that were still up and running? May was having a great time.
Not to mention she’d managed to work her way into the small dedicated group of computer techs and programmers who were rebuilding the internet, and had easily coded back doors into just about everything already. It was great fun because while some of the group were young hopefuls, most had enough skill to give her a challenge. Which was what made it all *worth it*. It’d be no fun if it were easy to gain access. Instead her back doors had to be so carefully created, so carefully carved out and concealed, that some of the best in the world of code and programming couldn’t find it. It did help that most of them weren’t really looking for it, like the rest of the world they had bigger problems. Still.
May had hardly left her current hideout since the apocalypse. She’d already had enough supplies to hide out for a year or so, she needed the ability to completely disappear, and she still had at least a few months if not half a years worth of simple supplies to keep her running before she even had to consider leaving. It wasn’t exactly glamorous, but she didn’t mind how she looked and there was no one but herself to show off for, in terms of appearance and personal hygiene, anyway. So she didn’t mind.
She hadn’t even considered someone could find her, or would even have reason to try, in months. Everyone else was so busy surviving and trying to find others, so who would bother with some girl tucked away at a computer? She was dead wrong, but that happened on occasion.
