White Christmas AU + Jassandra (Evlynn too)
It all starts when Jacob’s friend, Flynn, meets a girl he likes on their first layover of the day. Flynn trades his first class ticket for an economy ticket. Which put Flynn next to Eve, the woman he met during their layover, but put Jacob next to a quirky red head who is just a bit too possessive of the arm rest. She’s nice enough though and they chat a little. He finds out she’s headed to her Uncle’s Inn in a cute little town named Pine Tree. She’s helping him out during her Christmas Break. She’s a grad student at some tiny college he’d never heard of and she’s studying an advanced program he didn’t understand but she glowed when she talked about it so he’d let her confuse him. Just to see that.
Okay, so maybe he liked her a little. I mean he had to, right? Considering what happens next. Turns out Cassandra, the pretty red head he’d been chatting with on the plane, is Eve’s best friend. Eve is also planning on helping Cassandra’s Uncle with his Inn. Jacob thinks nothing else of it. He decides, it’s enough that he met a nice girl on a plane, even if it goes no further than that.
But Flynn has other plans. As soon as they’re off the plane he switches his ticket for whatever seat is empty on Eve and Cassandra’s flight.
“Look at them,” Flynn said with a grin and a nudge of Jacob’s arm. “What could we possibly do over Christmas that would be better than skiing with them.” He motions to Eve and Cassandra as they sit and wait for their next flight.
Cassandra tucks a hair behind her ear and smiles shyly at him. He feels himself cave instantly. “Fine, we’ll go to Vermont,” he says in exasperated defeat.
None of them knew that Vermont was currently experiencing it’s warmest winter on record, until they landed. It was too green. Too warm. They arrive at the Inn to find Cassandra’s uncle, Jenkins, bitter and nearly broke. No snow means no tourists, no tourists means no guests. No guests means no money. The worried look on Cassandra’s face is too much for him to take so he and Flynn both book rooms and decide to stay. Cassandra makes it her mission to revive her uncle’s business come hell or high…snow?
Jacob soon finds himself in the middle of a romance with plucky Cassandra Cillian before he knows it’s begun and he’s not quite sure what to do with that. Nor is he sure how she roped him into helping.
Will all four of their combined experiences and skills be able to save the Camelot Inn? He wasn’t sure but it would sure be fun to try.
