listen. frankie tries his absolute best ok? is it gonna be a show stopper? no. is it gonna be a 3 course meal? also no. but he knows a couple of good comfort recipes and he’s done them enough times they’re actually really good. like he has mastered french toast or a proper croque monsieur, not to mention winter foods like a good soup or a chilli or paella. he’s a homebody really and cooking is something he’s taken up to deal with his stress - making something good and actually getting to eat it? that’s healing. you’ll get homemade food a lot with frankie and there’s no need to prompt him for it either - besides his ability to spot a bad day a mile off he just enjoys cooking. im not gonna promise it’ll always be good but he tries.

javier on the other hand is getting by on pure spite, whiskey and cigarettes and sex so maybe don’t expect him to be good at food - he’s barely taking care of his self properly right now. but he’s probably picked up on a couple of good take outs from the few informants he’s had a good/close relationship with, the ones that have taken in on themselves to care for him in other ways. so order in is a yes. he’d surprise you - he’s not always vocal but he pays attention. he knows when you’re stressed and will just silently sit, ticking over in his brain as to what it might be (man ask her) then working out what might help. coming back from work to find him already home is a rarity if he’s not on a day off and even then the man doesn’t do well at stopping work. so coming in and finding food on the table, even if it is only in the form of your favourite take out? it’s his way of showing he cares and he’s paying attention to you. if you wanna talk he’ll listen but he won’t pressure you.

whiskey however is all about those grand gestures and i hold to it that that man is a mommy’s boy - he was taught cooking by his momma from a young age and he’s surprisingly good. while work might sometimes distract him like it does javier whiskey pays attention. he’s first instinct is probably to try to think of some big thing to do for you to make you feel better - he still thinks he needs to make these big gestures to woo you cos truly he’s a bit insecure about it all. but he’s learning to tone it down and if his baby needs him to cook dinner for a couple of nights? well that’s hardly a hassle! just tell him what you want and consider it done, he’ll try anything to make you happy
