The main characters, based on Vera Brittain’s memoirs, Testament of Youth, are herself, her brother and her fiançé, both killed in the First World War. The roles were taken by Antoinette Brooks-Daw as the spirit of Vera, with Riku Ito and Javier Torres as the soldiers she mourned. Brooks-Daw was a silvery wraith, linking the two men in their love for her. She drooped weightless in Torres’s arms in premonition of their deaths.

"I just... What do I know about kids?" if one were to pay attention closely, they might notice the hint of panic in Jason's voice. Which Tim was. "I'm gonna mess them up so bad, I just know it," Jason looked about two seconds from pulling on his own hair in frustration," Javi's so trusting and young and yesterday I caught him pretending to be the Red Hood and then Eli and his epilepsy..."
Jason leaned back on the ledge of the roof and rubbed at his eyes with the heel of his palm. "What am I doing with these kids?" he asked again.
Tim munched on his sandwich silently, thinking over Jason's words and the fears he just dumped on him. Not exactly the topic of conversation he expected when Jason asked him to joint patrol tonight. "Why are you freaking out so much?" Tim questioned, raising one eyebrow at him," They're not your kids."
He found Jason's hand fisting the front of his suit before either of them realized it. "It doesn't matter if they're my blood or not. The hell they aren't..." Jason started hissing at him before he saw the smug look on Tim's face," ...mine...Oh." He breathed out a puff of air and released Tim's suit.
Tim was almost too smug. "Aaaand there's where you finally realize you're just like Bruce," he teased and finished off his sandwich with one last bite. With his mouth full, he added," Congratulations. You're the new Batdad."
