I don’t remember where I first heard this, but I saw a tumbler post about how the robins would set Bruce and Selina up, and how Jason was big into the dramatic love confessions and this just came to live in my brain.

jay!bin: B! B! There’s a robbery happening on *insert Gotham street name that has an expensive jewelry store*!

Bruce: c’mon Robin, let’s go see who is is this time

*they get over their and after a few seconds of looking into where the alert came from, they deduce it’s coming from the third and top story of a large jewelry store*

Bruce, setting up his grappling hook: Robin, can you- *he looks over and Jay bird is no where to be seen*

he freaks out a little, but then? But then, music starts playing, music for teen girls (no hate to anyone who is not a teen girl and enjoys this music), im talking “Ordinary” “those eyes”, and other songs like that. And there coming from his suit.

you see, jaybin had attached one of those tiny speakers that uses what ever you attache it to as an amplifier to Bruce’s belt.

Bruce starts frantically searching his person for the source of the music, then he hears a noise above him. He looks up. And catwoman’s head is sticking out the window of the jewelry store. He obviously freezes and sort of just stares at her while the music is still playing.

Selina just shakes her head and returns to her heist so she can finish up before Bruce gets ahold of himself.

Bruce eventually finds the speaker and is so embarrassed he almost forgets to stop Selina’s robbery.

It’s going to be a while before Tim feels comfortable seeking Bruce out for comfort, but when he does, god it’s going to be so lovely. Tim is still little, so desperate for love and affection. He’s never had a parent cherish him before. Bruce is so eager for the day his son truly feels safe being held in his arms.

I can just imagine down the line Bruce developing a bedtime routine for Tim, especially once the pups start sleeping in separate nests. Having a safe and comforting routine with him will be especially helpful once Dick starts going out as Robin again. Bruce can help settle Tim and reassure him that he is safe and loved, that his Daddy and big brother will be back come morning time. Bruce will reassure him that he will check on him when he’s back from patrol, but until then he wants Tim to try to get some sleep.

Jason will have an open invitation to his nest so even on the nights they sleep in their own dens, Tim can always crawl into bed with him if he has a nightmare or wakes up scared or lonely.

Bruce will have soothing nightlights plugged into Tim’s bedroom and bathroom, and the glow in the dark stars on the ceiling, so that he never has to wake up in total darkness. He can read him bedtime stories and sing him lullabies until Tim is too sleepy to keep clinging. Though, I imagine Bruce will relish in every, every moment where Tim clings to him. So grateful that he’s finally proven himself a safe person for the puppy, that he’s someone Tim can truly rely on and seek out.

I can just picture a night where Tim needs some extra help falling asleep and Bruce has him cradled in his lap. Tim is already in his pull-up and some cozy pajamas. He’s sitting sideways in Bruce’s lap, pillowed against his chest. Tim has his most beloved teddy bear in his lap. Maybe he starts nibbling on his fingers to self-soothe and Bruce offers him a teether instead, knowing he can’t sleep with a chewy but not wanting the pup to hurt himself even for a moment. Bruce has one arm wrapped around his baby boy, the other holding open the book they’ve been slowly making their way through. Tim usually falls asleep before the chapter is finished. But that’s okay, they have plenty of time.

I just know Bruce makes himself recollect and ruminate about near misses his kids have had and wakes up in a cold sweat before going frantic trying to avoid the scenario repeating.
