Grounding
Javmas shifted under his own gaze he looked like a wreak. Part of his face and his neck was still burned his uniform was too big on him and his eyes aside from looking at something miles away were red and swollen.
He was falling apart.
One month after returning home and he couldn’t complete a simulation dogfight without panicking about his now gone copilot. One small hit in the simulation and it drove him off the deep end shouting and panicking. The desert bellow became a dense jungle and all those memories were coming back.
He leaned over the sink pushing his head under the stream of cool water. He needed to get ahold of himself. They didnt want him breaking down or loosing his mind. They wanted the once MIA Lt. Javmas Calhoun of Striker Squad to be like the old Lt. He was 4 months ago. Except he wasnt there any more.
He balled his fists trying to hold back more tears that threatened to fall.
It took some time being under the water for Javmas to come down from everything and start feeling less like a waste. Pulling himself up from the sink he started to dry off his hair and face before leaving the fresher. He was scheduled for retraining and such but now he wasnt sure if they would send him home for the day.
