Fede Alvarez Directing Labyrinth Spinoff 

Evil Dead reboot and Don’t Breathe director Fede Alvarez will be directing a new film set in the Labyrinth universe. Alvarez will co-write the film with Jay Basu. Alvarez will direct the spinoff after he finishes The Girl in the Spider’s Web (which he also co-wrote with Basu), a sequel to The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. As a Labyrinth fanatic, I am cautiously optimistic. While there is absolutely potential, no David Bowie is a mountainous obstacle. I wish Alvarez and Basu the best of luck. But please, in the name of everything holy and righteous, no CGI Bowie.
