Jayden stood by the door of the New York Institute, not knowing what building it was, or what would await him behind the door. However, he had been drawn to it the moment he had laid eyes on it. After all, since the day he had been left for dead by Valentine’s men, he had been wandering around the city rather helplessly ... hungry, tired and wounded.
Being British, having never even been to the States before, and having no idea what Shadowhunters were like in the city. Until recently he hadn’t even known about Shadowhunters or Downwolders actually, no for him demons and angels had been creatures from fantasy movies and books. Beings that were not off this world and were most certainly not real. By now, he knew better. He had met all kinds of beings and was trying to find his way in this world of shadows. If he had only been smart enough to stay out of business he had no clue about ...
He shook his head, chasing away his thoughts about the mess he had gotten himself into the past few weeks. “Now, no worries Jayden. Whatever lies behind these doors, it cannot be worse than that horrid ship.” He spoke to himself, gathering the courage before putting his hand on the door, pushing gently to see if it would give away, which to his surprise it did.
